1. Dylan Guenther o2.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:
Dylan Guenther is beginning to rip puck like a maniac again. He has hit his SOG prop in two straight games with 10 shot attempts in each match. This is a trend we saw early in the season when Guenther opened the season hitting his SOG line in three straight games and having 24 shot attempts, 8 shot attempt average, in those three games.
The Utah Hockey Club need a win almost as much as Boston does. They are beginning a four game road trip and pouncing on the struggling Bruins would be a hell of a way to kick it off. The Bruins are allowing the 3rd most shots against to left-wingers in the league over the last 10 games. They are also allowing the 11th most shots against and 3rd most power play opportunities to opponents over those games.
This is all great news for Guenther who will play on the top line with Clayton Keller. He also works the left circle on the top power play unit. All of this adds up to Guenther SOG being an NHL best bet.

2. Nikita Kucherov 2+ Points for -120 on BetOnline:
Kucherov is coming off a rare pointless game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tonight he has a chance for redemption against one of the weakest teams in the league. The Columbus Blue Jackets started the season off playing tough defensively and with buckets of piss and vinegar. However, over the last ten games they have slipped.
The Blue Jackets are now allowing the most goals against in the league over the last 10 games. They are averaging 3.7 goals against per game in that span. They are also taking the 10th most penalties in the league. Luckily their penalty kill has been league average, but tonight they get a Lightning team who had a top three power play unit last season.
While the Lightning only have the 13th best power play over the last ten games, it has been in large part of missing top center and PP bumper Brayden Point. This will be his second game back which should help with the Lightning’s power play woes. The Lightning have the 8th best offense and Kucherov has 17 points against Columbus in his last 8 games against them. Kuch is going to light it up, making his points a best bet.

3. Mikael Backlund o2.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:
Going right back to him. Some players don’t slow down once they get rolling. Backlund is one of those guys. He will often hit his SOG lines in a large chunk, having several cases of hitting 5+ times last season. Right now Backlund is rolling.
Backlund has now hit in 6 of the last 7 games. Over the last 5 games played he is averaging 5.2 shot attempts and 3 SOG. These numbers get skewed by a 0 shot attempt/0 SOG performance. Removing this outlier performance he is averaging 7.4 shot attempts and 3.8 SOG over the last 5. Tonight he gets an Rangers team who are allowing the 7th most shots against.
The veteran Backlund will often find creative ways to gets shots on net. Sometimes he will shoot the puck as a dump in, to make the goalie stop play and help his team get a line change. Other times he will sit in front of the net and swat away at any and all rebounds. The Rangers are nearly complete with their Western Canada roadtrip and may come into the match tired. A perfect scenario for Backlund’s top end motor to hit his SOG prop making it a best bet tonight.
