The 2024 MLB All-Star festivities have come and gone, leaving baseball enthusiasts to turn their attention back to the regular season. It won’t be much longer before the second half of the campaign heats up and that means that spotlight will be back on the two MLB Most Valuable Player races.
Both the American League and National League MVP battles have been fun to keep track of thus far and the entertainment will only increase throughout the coming months. So, who will hoist the gold when all is said and done?
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest AL and NL MVP odds following the 2024 MLB All-Star Break.
MLB Betting: 2024 AL MVP Odds Update
The following 2024 AL MVP odds are courtesy of Bovada as of Thursday, July 18 at 9:20 a.m. ET.
- Aaron Judge, NYY (-425)
- Gunnar Henderson, BAL (+300)
- Juan Soto, NYY (+1500)
- Bobby Witt Jr., KC (+2000)
- Rafael Devers, BOS (+6500)
- Jose Ramirez, CLE (+7500)
- 24 players between +10000 and +20000 odds
As we head into the second half of the 2024 MLB season, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judges is BetOnline’s clear-cut favorite to be named AL MVP. The 32-year-old outfielder’s -425 odds carry an implied win probability of 80.9%.
It isn’t too much of a surprise to see Judge in the MVP lead before the season resumes. The Linden, CA native has not only been one of the best players in the American League but in the MLB as a whole, leading the Majors in home runs, RBIs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, and OPS+. Without his efforts, the Yankees likely wouldn’t be near the top of the standings.
Having said that, there isn’t much value that comes with betting on Judge. A $100 bet placed on his current odds would only see a payout of $123.53.
Can Aaron Judge win the second AL MVP award of his career?
When it comes to Judge’s biggest challenger, that would be Baltimore Orioles star Gunnar Henderson. The third-year infielder has already matched his career high of 28 home runs in 95 games while adding 63 RBIs, 14 stolen bases, and an MLB-leading 78 runs scored. He’s also slashing .286/.373/.584, further highlighting his consistency. Maybe it’s worth sprinkling some scratch on him.
Judges’ teammate Juan Soto rounds out the top three at +1500 odds. The four-time MLB All-Star has performed as advertised since debuting with the Yankees, tallying 23 HRs, 66 RBIs, and a .295/.426/.558 slash line while leading the Majors with 79 walks.
For now, the 2024 AL MVP race is clearly Judge’s to lose for the time being. Henderson is an interesting challenger, however, it’s going to take a massive drop-off from the Yankees’ superstar for things to change.

Much like on the American League side of things, the National League Most Valuable Player scene is one-sided. LA Dodgers phenom Shohei Ohtani is the clear-cut -450 favorite to be named the 2024 NL MVP, which is an 81.8% implied probability.
The two-time AL MVP hasn’t been able to pitch this season, however, he’s positively impacted the Dodgers with his bat. He’s the NL leader in home runs, runs, SLG%, OPS%, OPS+, and total bases. He’s also batting a career-best .316 and even paces the National League with a 5.4, which is nearing the career-best of 6.0 he set last year.
Can anyone dethrone Shohei Ohtani in the NL MVP race?
Two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper clocks in with the second-best odds at +400. The 31-year-old difference-maker is a big reason why the Philadelphia Phillies are atop the MLB standings. He’s slashing .301/.403/.579 while matching last year’s HR total (21) in 45 fewer games. If he wins the award, Harper will join Stan Musial, Roy Campanella, Mike Schmidt, Barry Bonds, and Albert Pujols as the only other three-time NL MVP winners.
After Ohtani and Harper, there isn’t another NL player with better than +2500 odds to win the MVP award. Freddie Freeman and Marcell Ozuna are both enjoying some of the best performances of their respective careers, however, their campaigns don’t compare to those ahead of them in the race.
Barring any severe injuries, Ohtani will likely remain in the lead for the rest of the 2024 MLB season with Harper occasionally putting some pressure on him.
