I want to start by saying that last night, I added the Athletics to make the playoffs at +850. They are finally serious about being a real team. This offseason, they re-signed Brent Rooker and Lawrence Butler—something they have not done in what feels like forever. Instead of letting their best players walk, they are building around them. In a smaller ballpark, this team should be gritty and fun to watch. I fully expect them to turn the corner in this new era of Athletics baseball.
After talking to @_JohnnyVTV for two hours. I have added more MLB futures to my already massive 2025 card. ⚾️
Here’s to another incredible baseball season. Cheers, you sick degenerates! 🍻 pic.twitter.com/00E94f6qm7

Now, on to the real team in this division. I have been high on the Texas Rangers since December and have the over on their win total. Top to bottom, their lineup will be a nightmare for opposing pitchers. I dive deeper into the Rangers in my season preview, so check that out for more insight.
Stay Away
I am completely out on the Seattle Mariners. They slept through the offseason and did not add any talent. No pursuit of Pete Alonso, not even a phone call. They are content with Luke Raley at first base. Their starting rotation is incredible, but I do not think it will be enough.
On top of that, I do not love the price on the Astros, but they should still be a solid team. With Alex Bregman leaving, there is even more pressure on Yordan Alvarez. Opposing teams are going to pitch to him differently than in years past. Jose Altuve turns 35 in May, and Houston’s reign of dominance over the last decade is slowly fading. Will they still win a lot of games? Yes, but I am not taking +165 on a team that is clearly no longer the best in their division.
