The Los Angeles Dodgers enter the 2025 season with arguably the most star-studded roster in MLB history. With the additions of Roki Sasaki and Tanner Scott, alongside a rotation featuring Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, this team is built to dominate. Their lineup, headlined by Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Ohtani, is equally terrifying. However, even for a team this stacked, the six-month grind of a 162-game season leaves plenty of room for surprises.

Now, where on earth can you find value with a team as loaded as the Los Angeles Dodgers? Do not jump to “there is not any,” because there is always value to be found.
This past week, Los Angeles acquired starting pitcher Roki Sasaki and star closer Tanner Scott. Hopefully, for the sake of all non-Dodgers fans, this will complete their offseason moves. On paper, this might be the most lethal team of all time. Their starting rotation now consists of Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani, and Sasaki. Meanwhile, their starting lineup features Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernández, Max Muncy, Will Smith, Michael Conforto, Tommy Edman, and Hyeseong Kim.
This team has everything it takes to repeat as World Series champions. However, it is still January, and the MLB season is a grueling six-month grind. Injuries happen. The question remains—will the Dodgers be able to pull it off again?
Future Leans
I love the Dodgers’ win total under. The line opened at 103.5 wins and has not moved since, even with all the pieces the Dodgers have added over the last week. I fully expect this line to rise as people blindly take the over, assuming this is the greatest baseball team ever assembled.
But let us not forget—it is still baseball. It is still 162 games. And it is still a long, unpredictable journey. In the entire history of the MLB, only 42 teams have surpassed 104 wins in a season since 1876.
The Dodgers won 98 games last year. Now they get Ohtani back on the mound, and their rotation is healthy again. This is undoubtedly a 100-win team, but surpassing 104 wins feels like a stretch. I will wait to place this wager and keep an eye on any potential line movement. Some books already have the line at 104, which I like more than 103.5.
