Juan Soto’s blockbuster 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets has sent shockwaves through the baseball world—and the 2025 World Series odds. Since our last check-in on October 31, the betting lines have shifted dramatically.

Adding one of the game’s best players can do wonders for a team’s title hopes—and its odds. The Mets skyrocketed from +2000 (8th highest odds) to +750, now holding the third-best chances to win the 2025 World Series. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees dropped from +750 (2nd highest) to +900, slipping to fourth.
As a Yankees fan, I would not touch 9/1 odds with a ten-foot pole. The team is set to be a shadow of its former self after losing a player worth nearly 10 wins a season. Realistically, the Yankees likely never stood a chance of re-signing Soto, with Mets owner Steve Cohen wielding an unlimited bankroll and the willingness to outbid any offer.

The Baltimore Orioles quietly made a big move by signing Tyler O’Neill to a three-year deal. In 2024, O’Neill hit .241 with an .847 OPS, smashing 31 home runs for the Red Sox. The Orioles’ projected lineup is now loaded: Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg, Adley Rutschman, Tyler O’Neill, Ryan Mountcastle, Colton Cowser, Gary Sánchez, Jorge Mateo, and Jackson Holliday.
Even if they lose the race to re-sign Corbin Burnes in free agency, Baltimore’s roster is packed with potential. At 14/1 odds, the Orioles are worth a sprinkle as a dark horse contender.
