Line Movement
There has been plenty of movement since the last World Series odds update, but one shift does not surprise me—the Orioles dropping from 14/1 to 16/1. They made no moves to improve their starting rotation after Corbin Burnes left for Arizona. Their most notable addition was Tyler O’Neill, who will replace Anthony Santander after his move to Toronto. Baltimore’s offense will be electrifying, and they will win plenty of games with their explosive lineup, but their atrocious rotation will hold them back.
The Red Sox moving from 18/1 to 16/1 is also no surprise. They seem to be a fan favorite to make noise this season after adding Garrett Crochet, Alex Bregman, and Walker Buehler. This Yankees fan is not looking forward to it.
Leans
As the weeks pass and I gather more information, do I hate that it increasingly feels like the Dodgers’ year? Yes. But will I suggest betting them at 2/1? No.
I still love the Rangers, even as their odds shift from 20/1 to 18/1. Their lineup is lethal from top to bottom, with the potential to lead the league in runs per game. If Jacob deGrom can stay healthy and be the pitcher they expected when they signed him, the rotation should be much improved from 2024.
They have been my favorite team on paper since they made major moves this offseason, doing everything possible to return to their 2023 level of play. At 18/1, they remain a great value.
