Braves @ Giants Analysis & Breakdown
Travis d’Arnaud drove in the only run in the Braves 1-0 win over the Giants on Monday night.
The Giants have lost the first 2 of this 4-game series with the Braves, and tonight they’ll turn to Robbie Ray to help get the team back in the win column. Yes, that same Robbie Ray in 2024.
To be fair, Ray’s been pretty good this season; posting a 3.98 ERA and going 2-1 through 4 starts. It’s at Oracle Park is where things get a little shaky. Ray’s got a 5.23 ERA in 2 home starts this season, giving up 12 total hits, 6 earned runs, and 3 home runs. It just doesn’t seem like a great spot for Robbie so that’s why we’re fading him today.
On the flip side the Braves will go with rookie, Grant Holmes. Holmes has played just 38 innings of professional baseball, playing in 13 games but making just 3 starts. He’s got a 5.52 ERA as a starter this season, given up 9 earned runs, and 3 home runs.
With Grant on the bump, we’ll be staying off a side today. So let’s talk props.

Jorge Soler and the Braves have now won back to back games at Oracle Park.
Soler’s return to Oracle Park has been kind of mediocre so far. He’s recorded just 1 hit through 2 games, posting a batting average of 0.167 against his former team.
Despite just the 1 hit, Soler hit his bases prop last night with a deep double to center field that was very close to a home run. He’s batting 0.280 against lefties this season and he’s got a 0.279 batting average since joining the Braves.
Soler’s also batting 0.317 since the All-Star Break with 6 home runs and 18 RBI. His numbers against Robbie Ray are pretty bad but it feels like a day we see Robbie get blown up a little bit. He’s been good this season but bad at home.
Ray’s got a 5.23 ERA through two starts at Oracle Park and he’s given up 5 home runs. Tonight he gets a stacked Braves lineup that does strike out a lot, but they’ve got some big bats.

Everyone and their mother was on Ozuna yesterday and unfortunately he let everyone down. Ozuna went 1/5 with 4 strikeouts and just a single and 1 RBI. He went 0/3 against left hander Kyle Harrison, despite recording a 0.333 batting average against lefties this year.
Ozuna’s batting 0.301 on the season and he’s upped it to 0.306 in the month of August. He’s hit 35 home runs, score 73 runs, and recorded 90 RBI on the season. Ozuna’s having a career year at 33 years old and looks ready for more.
With how good he’s been this year, Ozuna’s struck out 4 times just one other time this year. In the following game he recorded 2 hits on 4 at-bats, and he faces of with Robbie Ray in tonight’s game.
