The NL West race is wide open, with legitimate challengers emerging and the Dodgers offering little value—even in a parlay. While Los Angeles remains a high-profile contender, question marks make them a risky play, leaving room for teams like the Diamondbacks and Padres to capitalize. The NL West should be more competitive than the odds reflect.

NL West Winner Leans
I am all in on the Arizona Diamondbacks. They have strengthened their starting rotation by acquiring Corbin Burnes and bolstered their lineup with Josh Naylor, who replaces Josh Bell and Christian Walker, both of whom departed this offseason. Is Naylor enough to fully replace that production? No, but his impact will be felt all season.
This is a team that won 89 games in 2024 but missed the playoffs. They also led the league in runs scored last season. Even with Bell and Walker gone, Arizona is still going to pile up runs. With a significantly improved rotation, I find it hard to envision this team not reaching at least 85 wins in 2025.
They are, without question, my top pick to win the division.
The only other viable option would be the Padres, but with Dylan Cease likely to be dealt at the deadline, there are too many uncertainties for me to justify backing them to win the NL West.
Stay Away: The Dodgers
Do I need to say more? Even if you are considering adding them to a divisional parlay, stop yourself—it is not worth it.
