UFC Abu Dhabi Preliminary Card Odds & Predictions
UFC on ABC: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov odds are courtesy of BetOnline as of Friday, Aug. 2 at 10:38 a.m. ET.
Azamat Murzakanov vs. Alonzo Menifield — Light Heavyweight
- Record: Azamat Murzakanov (13-0) vs. Alonzo Menifield (15-4-1)
- Moneyline: Azamat Murzakanov (-205) | Alonzo Menifield (+175)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-145) | Under (+115)
- Most likely method of victory: Murzakanov via KO/TKO (+125)
- Last 10 fights: Murzakanov — 10-0 | Menifield — 6-3-1
Azamat Murzakanov brings his undefeated streak to Abu Dhabi after picking up a unanimous decision win over Dustin Jacoby last April. That was well over a year ago, though, and now he must face Alonzo Menifield, who’s coming off a 12-second KO loss to Carlos Ulberg at UFC St. Louis.
In what should be a competitive bout, I’m taking Murzakanov to win. He’s undefeated for a reason on top of his finishing four of his last five opponents. His superior striking should help him against Menifield, who’s been outhit in each of his last three outings. With that in mind, let’s take Murzakanov to hand Menifield his second consecutive KO/TKO loss.
Murzakanov vs. Menifield prediction: Azamat Murzakanov
Best Murzakanov vs. Menifield bet: Murzakanov via KO/TKO (+125)
Shamil Gaziev vs. Don’Tale Mayes — Heavyweight
- Record: Shamil Gaziev (12-1) vs. Don’Tale Mayes (11-6, 1 NC)
- Moneyline: Shamil Gaziev (-265) | Don’Tale Mayes (+225)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (+130) | Under (-160)
- Most likely method of victory: Gaziev via KO/TKO (+130)
- Last 10 fights: Gaziev — 9-1 | Mayes — 5-4, 1 NC
It’s been extremely hard to get behind Don’Tale Mayes lately. Although he’s coming off a UD win over Caio Machado, the 32-year-old veteran only has five wins in his last 10 fights and hasn’t won back-to-back outings in nearly three years. Meanwhile, Shamil Gaziev is a finishing machine who was on a 12-fight win streak before being TKO’d by Jairzinho Rozenstruik in March.
While I fully expect Gaziev to capitalize on Mayes’ slump, I like the Under on the 2.5-round total for the best bet. After all, Gaziev’s fights don’t tend to be long with all but two of his 13 career fights lasting under 2.5 rounds.
Gaziev vs. Mayes prediction: Shamil Gaziev
Best Gaziev vs. Mayes bet: u2.5 Total Rounds (-160)
Mohammad Yahya vs. Kaue Fernandes — Lightweight
- Record: Mohammad Yahya (12-4) vs. Kaue Fernandes (8-2)
- Moneyline: Mohammad Yahya (+300) | Kaue Fernandes (-400)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-148) | Under (+118)
- Most likely method of victory: Fernandes via KO/TKO (+180)
- Last 10 fights: Yahya — 7-3 | Fernandes — 8-2
Mohammad Yahya finally made his UFC debut in October, however, it didn’t go as planned as he fell to Trevor Peek via unanimous decision. Things don’t get any easier for Yahya as he now faces Kaue Fernandes, who’s also looking to bounce back following a split-decision loss to Marc Diakiese in his own debut last year.
I’m not a huge fan of betting on this fight since I’d like to see a bit more from each fighter. Keeping that in mind, you may as well take the fight to last over 1.5 rounds. After all, the Over is 8-0 in Yahya’s last eight fights as well as 3-2 in Fernandes’ five previous outings.
Yahya vs. Fernandes prediction: Kaue Fernandes
Best Yahya vs. Fernandes bet: o1.5 Total Rounds (-148)

Guram Kutateladze vs. Jordan Vucenic — Lightweight
- Record: Guram Kutateladze (12-4) vs. Jordan Vucenic (13-2)
- Moneyline: Guram Kutateladze (-210) | Jordan Vucenic (+180)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-185) | Under (+155)
- Most likely method of victory: Kutateladze via points (+110)
- Last 10 fights: Kutateladze — 8-2 | Vucenic — 9-1
Here’s a UFC Abu Dhabi clash between two lightweights who are starving for a victory. Jordan Vucenic is the clear-cut underdog as he makes his UFC debut this weekend while Guram Kutateladze hopes to avoid a third straight loss following back-to-back defeats to Damir Ismagulov (via SD) and Elves Brener (via TKO).
Again, this is another fight that I’m not too keen to wager on based on both men’s recent history (or lack thereof for the underdog). But if I had to pick someone, it’d be Vucenic. Kutateladze just hasn’t looked impressive since making his debut whereas I can see Vucenic pulling out all the stops to taste victory at his first-ever UFC show.
Kutateladze vs. Vucenic prediction: Jordan Vucenic
Best Kutateladze vs. Vucenic bet: Vucenic ML (+180)
Sam Hughes vs. Victoria Dudakova — Women’s Strawweight
- Record: Sam Hughes (8-6) vs. Victoria Dudakova (8-0)
- Moneyline: Sam Hughes (+145) | Victoria Dudakova (-170)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-450) | Under (+350)
- Most likely method of victory: Dudakova via points (-125)
- Last 10 fights: Hughes — 4-6 | Dudakova — 8-0
I wouldn’t overthink things as far as this fight is concerned. Sam Hughes is the underdog after dropping five of her last eight fights and has yet to taste victory outside of the United States. I don’t see that trend ending against Victoria Dudakova, who’s currently undefeated and holds a 2-0 record in the UFC.
In other words, Dudakova is going to win this fight and it’ll likely be via points. Hughes might be in a slump, but she knows how to avoid being finished, having been knocked out or submitted in just two of her 14 career fights. Dudkova will still wear her down as the bout goes on, though, earning enough respect from the judges to take home the win.
Hughes vs. Dudakova prediction: Victoria Dudakova
Best Hughes vs. Dudakova bet: Dudakova via points (-125)
Jai Herbert vs. Rolando Bedoya — Lightweight
- Record: Jai Herbert (12-5-1) vs. Rolando Bedoya (14-3)
- Moneyline: Jai Herbert (-126) | Rolando Bedoya (+106)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-180) | Under (+150)
- Most likely method of victory: Herbert via points (+170)
- Last 10 fights: Herbert — 5-4-1 | Bedoya — 8-2
Jai Herbert has seen better days. The former Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion is 2-4-1 in his last seven fights, which includes three losses via knockout/submission. The good news for him is that his opponent — Rolando Bedoya — doesn’t have any momentum either after beginning his UFC tenure with back-to-back losses.
At the end of the day, I’m taking Bedoya to pull off the upset here. Herbert has been getting beaten up left and right lately, and that could put him in a vulnerable spot against a heavy striker like Bedoya. Considering that Herbert’s odds have also plummeted from -155 to -126 between Monday and Friday, I won’t be shocked if Bedoya leaves Abu Dhabi with his first UFC victory.
Herbert vs. Bedoya prediction: Rolando Bedoya
Best Herbert vs. Bedoya bet: Bedoya ML (+106)

Sedriques Dumas vs. Denis Tiuliulin — Middleweight
- Record: Sedriques Dumas (9-2) vs. Denis Tiuliulin (10-9, 1 NC)
- Moneyline: Sedriques Dumas (-240) | Denis Tiuliulin (+205)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-155) | Under (+125)
- Most likely method of victory: Dumas via submission (+260)
- Last 10 fights: Dumas — 8-2 | Tiuliulin — 5-5
I’m actually surprised that the odds in this fight aren’t more lopsided. Denis Tiuliulin has been terrible since joining the UFC in 2022, going just 1-4 in his first five fights while being finished four times along the way. Although Dumas is also coming off a loss, he’s at least 2-2 under the promotion’s umbrella and even picked up a pair of wins in 2023, whereas Tiuliulin hasn’t won since September 2022.
Considering Tiuliulin’s inability to survive a full fight, let’s keep it simple with Dumas winning inside of the distance — something he’s done in 66.7% of his victories.
Dumas vs. Tiuliulin prediction: Sedriques Dumas
Best Dumas vs. Tiuliulin bet: Dumas to win inside the distance (+105)
