76ers vs NBA Predictions & Picks (11/6)

The losses are piling up for the 76ers, who’ve now lost three straight outings thanks to Monday’s 118-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately, things look even more grim now that star center Joel Embiid has been suspended for three games after shoving a media member on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the 76ers could also be without Paul George tonight. Although this matchup marks George’s return to Los Angeles since signing with Philadelphia over the offseason, the veteran forward is expected to be a game-time decision as he continues to deal with a knee injury. He made his 2024-25 debut in the loss to the Suns, scoring 15 points while shooting 28.6% from the field and 14.3% from deep.

As for the Clippers, they ended a three-game slide with a 113-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs two nights ago — marking their first-ever win at Intuit Dome. Norman Powell’s team-high 23 points played a big part in that victory while Amir Coffey added another 21 points in 26 minutes off the bench.

Having said that, the Clippers are also dealing with injuries as Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Mo Bamba (knee) are still sidelined for the time being.

Can the Clippers find a way to claw to the .500 mark without Kawhi Leonard (knee)? 

The good news for the 76ers is that they’ve actually had a decent amount of recent success against the Clippers. After all, Philadelphia is 5-0 ATS and 4-1 SU with a plus-10.6 average scoring margin in its last five meetings with Los Angeles. That includes a 121-107 victory in the Sixers’ last road game against the Clippers on March 24 of this year.

Neither side has lit up the world offensively, however, it isn’t hard to give the edge to the home team here. The Clippers rank 16th in offensive efficiency, 14th in field-goal percentage, and 11th in three-point percentage. On the flip side, the 76ers rank 27th, 29th, and 25th in those regards, respectively.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles has the edge over Philadelphia when it comes to defensive efficiency (9th vs. 21st) and points allowed per game (13th vs. 21st). That’s without mentioning how the 76ers are also surrendering the highest field-goal and second-highest three-point percentages league-wide.

Will the Clippers find a way to take advantage of the 76ers’ horrendous defensive play? 

Based on how the season has unfolded thus far, this game could go either way. Having said that, I’m siding with the Clippers this evening. I can’t bring myself to trust the 76ers when they’re sporting, arguably, the worst defense in the entire Association. They’re also on a three-game slide whereas the Clippers at least have some momentum stemming from their first home victory.

I’m not a fan of betting on the total because of all the players who’ll be out of the lineups, so let’s keep it simple with a Clippers moneyline bet.

Best 76ers vs Clippers NBA Player Prop (11/6)

Norman Powell has done a terrific job of stepping up offensively during Kawhi Leonard’s absence. That’s why I’m going with him scoring o20.5 points (-112) as the best 76ers vs. Clippers player prop tonight.

In his last six games, Powell is averaging 26.2 points on .537/.491/.789 shooting splits. The ex-UCLA Bruin scored 21-plus points in five of those outings and never finished a single game during that stretch with fewer than 20 points. There’s a good chance of that production continuing given that the 76ers have struggled to stop shooters all season long.

Assuming that the 76ers haven’t magically solved their defensive issues in the last two days, I’m confident that Powell will have another strong performance tonight.
