Happy Hump Day. Another day of the NBA Cup in the books, another day of great games. The Celtics took on the Cavaliers at TD Garden, a battle of the two best teams in the Eastern Conference.
Boston came away with a win but it was a tough fought battle. In the Western Conference, we saw the #1 defense in the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder, fall to the Spurs with Wembanyama out of the lineup.
It was a fun for hoops, let’s hope for another one tonight.
Here are our favorite bets for tonight’s NBA Cup Games:
-
- Buddy Hield o14.5 Points (+100)
- Devin Booker o28.5 Points (-115)
- Jalen Suggs o15.5 Points (-106)
Buddy Hield o14.5 Points (-110)
The Warriors are 10-3 this season, they’ve got a top-3 defense and a top-2 3-point shooting team. It’s no surprise, when you have Steph Curry you’re bound to hit some 3-pointers.
With the departure of Klay Thompson, it was a fair assumption to think the Warriors might take a step-back in that regard, but the addition of Buddy Hield has set this offense on fire.
Hield is averaging 16.9 points per game this year, shooting 49% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc. He’s playing just 24.8 minutes per game off the bench, but it’s in this role he’s been the most deadly.
Buddy started the season scoring 20 or more points in 6 of his first 7 games. His game as completely opened up alongside Stephen Curry and he continues to fire away.
Over Hield L5 games, he’s shot the ball poorly and has hit this line in just 4 of the 5 games. Hield’s shot just 35% from 3 in that time span and he’s coming off a tough 3/7 against the Clippers.
Tonight Hield and the Warriors matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta ranks 27th in points allowed, 30th in opponent 3-point percentage, and 27th in opponent true shooting percentage. Atlanta also ranks 24th in 3s allowed to shooting guards.
They’ve had an incredibly tough time playing defense, and face off with a top-3 offense tonight. Hield is the #1 option on the Warriors’ bench squad, look for him to take advantage and break out of his slump.
Buddy Hield o14.5 Points (+100)
Bonus: Buddy Hield 5+ 3s (+250) | 6+ (+500)
Devin Booker 28.5 Points (-115)
Big narrative here, Devin Booker’s good friend Karl-Anthony Towns comes to the desert. Both KAT and DBook played together in Kentucky and have talked countless times about the possibility of playing together.
Booker’s scored 28 or more points in 9 of his L13 matchups with Towns, with all of those matchups coming during Towns’ time in Minnesota. He averages 24.4 points per game, shooting 47% and he’s won 16 of their 24 matchups.
Book’s struggled to score the ball this month, averaging just 22 points per game, shooting 41% and below 30% from 3. He’s coming off a game in which he scored just 17 points against the Orlando Magic, shooting 35% from the field.
In the game prior, Booker scored 44 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves and took 29 shots. He’s a big narrative guy and tonight with the Knicks in town, it’s time to go big.
Devin Booker o28.5 Points (-115)
Bonus: Devin Booker 40+ (+625)
Jaeln Suggs o15.5 Points (-106)
The Magic are still without Paolo Banchero but have somehow still been able to tread water. Their defense has remained one of the toughest and Franz Wagner has been leading the charge on offense.
Outside of Franz Wagner, it’s been Jalen Suggs seeing the highest amount of usage. Suggs is averaging 13 shot attempts per game without Banchero this year, it’s just he’s been shooting poorly (39%).
Suggs has hit this line in just 4 of the 10 games without Banchero and he’s just twice in his last 7.
The Clippers rank 24th in points allowed to opposing point guards and it’s been one of the spots on the floor they’ve had the most trouble guarding. Los Angeles allows on average 21.6 points per game to the opposing starting point guard, allowing 6 of the L10 to hit their lines.
Tonight in LA, last game of the night, look for Suggs to put some pressure on the defense.
Jalen Suggs o15.5 Points (-106)
Bonus: Jalen Suggs 20+ (+240)
To Recap, NBA Bets for November 20th, 2024:
We’ve got a small slate of games tonight. We’re rolling with 3 plays; Buddy Hield o14.5 Points (+100), Devin Booker o28.5 Points (-115) & Jalen Suggs o15.5 (-106); all via BetOnline.
