Thursday night hoops as two former Bulls stars return to Chicago as Kings. Both of these teams seemingly have futures as play-in teams when playoffs kick off. Should be a good one. Let’s talk hoops.

Sacramento is the new home for these two former Bulls.
Chicago Bulls @ Sacramento Kings
Chicago is 9th in the Eastern Conference despite being 11 games under .500. Bulls ownership is content sneaking into the playoffs year after year never committing to a full rebuild. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games but coming off a lose to Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. They can’t drop this one as their next 4/5 are against top notch competition; the Lakers twice, the Nuggets, and the Thunder. If the playoffs started today they would play the 10th seeded Heat. Both the Heat and Bulls have 5 games on the 11th seeded Raptors but stranger things have happened. Lonzo Ball and Ayo Dosunmu continue to be out of the lineup.
Sacramento will still be missing their Superstar in Domantas Sabonis. He returned from injury only to turn his ankle and be ruled out again. The Big Lithuanian will be re-evaluated in 10 days. The Kings are coming off two good wins over the Grizzlies and the Cavaliers. This is the first of three Eastern Conference teams coming into Sac Town. Despite their two game win streak they Kings are still 5-5 in their last ten. That is not too bad considering most of those games were without their best player. Zach LaVine has been missing time as well.
With playoff implications factoring in every night now expect games to have more intensity. These two teams played one another in January inside of the United Center. The Kings stole a narrow 5 point win on the road. Those where different times though. De’Aaron Fox was still wearing purple. Zach LaVine was still wearing red.
BACK LIKE HE NEVER LEFT!!
Josh Giddey stays in top form as he returns to the court after a minor ankle injury.

NBA Game Analysis
Chicago is middle of the pack in most offensive categories. They are dead last in Free Throw Rate and 24th in 2nd Chance Points. So, how do the Bulls win games? Pace. They are 2nd the in association in pace factor. They are also 7th in points per game averaging 116.6 as a team. Additionally, they are 4th in Fast Break Points scoring nearly 18. Billy Donovan’s team is active and their sets and actions are quick. All this while still taking care of the basketball. They are 9th in assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Bulls can win this game by quickening the pace to open up the floor. The Kings are 30th in 3-point % allowed. If Chicago can get down hill and deploy that 4th ranked fast break offence then their shooter will find themselves open. Unfortunately, Doug Christie’s squad in the 2nd ranked Fast Break Defence in the NBA. They only allow 12.9 points per game. The Kings have a solid counter for one of Chicago’s biggest weapons.
The Kings are a seven point favourite at the time of writing despite Zach LaVine being game timed decision and Sabonis being out. If Sacramento wins the rebounding contest then they should come out of this one. If the game gets close they have the best closer on the floor in DeMar DeRozan. The Kings are also 3rd in Free Throw % in the NBA so they are tough to beat at home in close games. To conclude, the Kings also have underrated depth…

NBA Best Bet: o234.0 Total (-110)
The Sacramento Kings are 11-4 in their last 15 games vs. bottom 10 scoring defences. If you turn a game into a barn burner against them they douse the court in gasoline. Kings are also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. bottom defences. I really wanted to take the Kings -7 but I am going with the over instead. Neither team has elite defensive playmakers. A lot of vendettas in this one too. The over hit in 14 of the Sacramento Kings last 21 games vs. bottom 10 scoring defences. I’ll take that 67% hit rate.
