The Boston Celtics will aim to put the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 3-1 hole when the foes collide at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse for Game 4 on Monday, May 13.

Game 3 was a back-and-forth affair early on, but the Celtics created distance as the game continued to notch a 106-93 win over the Cavaliers. Jayson Tatum led the way with a 33-point, 13-rebound double-double while Jaylen Brown added 28 points on 76.5% shooting.
Can Boston win again to force an elimination game? Or will Cleveland even the series with a strong effort?
Game 4 is also filled with plenty of betting opportunities, so let’s highlight some of them as we get into my Celtics vs. Cavaliers predictions and best NBA bets.

Celtics vs Cavaliers Game 4 Predictions & NBA Picks Today (5/13)
After being blown out at home in Game 2, the Celtics got back on track with a massive win in Game 3. Boston did a lot of things right to secure the victory, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The Cavaliers couldn’t get any momentum going at home on Saturday, shooting just 42.9% from the field and 33.3% from deep. Outside of Donovan Mitchell’s 33-point effort, none of the Cavs’ other top players showed up. Darius Garland only scored 15 points on .400/.167/1.000 splits while Isaac Okoro and Max Struss combined for just eight points on 3-for-15 shooting (20.0%).
The Celtics were much more consistent with their offensive opportunities, finishing with a 51.2 FG% and 38.2 3P%. Although there wasn’t a ton of production outside of Tatum and Brown, Jrue Holiday did add 18 points while hitting 70.0% of his field-goal attempts while the rest of the lineup played well defensively.
That’s without mentioning how Boston also outrebounded Cleveland 44-35, taking full advantage of the latter’s shooting struggles.
Donovan Mitchell needs more support from his teammates if the Cavaliers are to win Game 4.
Interestingly enough, the Game 3 victory was a rare one for the Celtics, who are just 2-6 SU in their last eight trips to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. At the same time, Boston is a whopping 29-12 SU as the road favorite between the 2023-24 regular season and playoffs, whereas Cleveland is 3-6 SU as the home underdog.
Let’s also not forget that the Cavaliers are an uninspiring 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as well as 7-13 ATS in their last 20 Eastern Conference tilts.
Meanwhile, the C’s have covered the spread in five of their last six games. It’s a small sample size, but worth noting considering that they defeated the Cavs by 13 points just two nights ago.
As far as injuries go, the Celtics will be without Kristaps Porzingis (calf) again in Game 4 while Luke Kornet (calf) is probable to suit up.
As for the Cavaliers, Craig Porter (ankle) and Ty Jerome (ankle) have been ruled out while Donovan Mitchell (calf) and Jarrett Allen (ribs) — two of the team’s best players — will both be game-time decisions.
Will the Celtics prevail without Kristaps Porzingis (calf) again?
After a brief scare in Game 2, I believe that the Celtics are back in control and will win tonight. They’re the better team on both sides of the ball and that’ll only become clearer if Allen and/or Mitchell can’t play tonight. Look for Boston to create another sizeable gap before using its defense to keep Cleveland at a big enough distance to secure the victory.
I’ll also take the Celtics to cover the spread. The Cavaliers have struggled to keep things close in two games already, which could happen again given their injury situation. Boston is more than capable of winning by multiple possessions, so don’t underestimate the visiting team on Monday.

Even though I’m projecting his team to win, I’m taking the Under on Al Horford’s 8.5-point total (-122) for the best Celtics vs. Cavaliers Game 4 prop bet.
Horford is well past his offensive prime and his latest stretch highlights that fact. The veteran forward is only averaging 7.4 points on .485/.311/.500 shooting splits in his last 11 games, finishing with the Under eight times. He’s finished with more than 8.5 points in just one of his last five outings and only scored two points on 1-for-7 shooting in Game 3.
Considering how the Celtics’ offense runs through Tatum and Brown, I won’t be surprised if Horford has another quiet night.
