The Atlanta Hawks had their back against the wall in Game 5, on the road in TD Garden in Boston, facing elimination.

Boy, did they respond.

Trae Young was sensational, dropping 38 points and 13 assists to lead the Hawks to a huge game 5 victory.

The series moves to Game 6 tonight, where the Celtics have a chance to close things out on the road and will try to hold Young and the Hawks at bay to prevent a dreaded Game 7 back in Boston.

Jayson Tatum has had a fairly pedestrian series so far compared to his incredibly high standards, as he has only eclipsed 30 points once in the series. Tatum will need to be the MVP caliber player that the Celtics faithful have grown accustomed to if the Celtics want to handle their business tonight in Hotlanta.

And I think they do just that.

This has been a fun series, full of ups and downs from both teams but it ends tonight. The Celtics let Game 5 slip away, and I expect them to come out tonight angry and ready to finish the job.

Give me the Celtics to win big and end the Hawks season in front of the Atlanta faithful.

So I wrote about the NBA games yesterday, an elimination spot for the Grizzlies and a big Game 5 for the Warriors and both of my props in those games were gut plays.

They both cashed 😉

This is another gut play.

It is all well and good to bet with the data, as it is the best way to profit long term in sports betting. But never forget to bet with your sports brain too.

Numbers don’t always tell the story and sometimes you, as a sports fan, have to just go with your gut and take the play that speaks to you.

That is Tatum tonight for me but in this case, the data backs it up as well which is a double bonus.

Tatum shot so poorly in Game 5, going 1/10 from 3 and 8/21 from the floor. A night to forget for sure.

But this is one of the best players in the NBA we are talking about here and I expect a massive bounce back tonight.

Even though he shot poorly in Game 5, he still took 10 3’s. He has taken 10+ in the last 3 games and he has made 4 or more in 3 of the last 4 games.

I expect a massive night from Tatum, from all over the floor but especially from deep.
