See Picks & Statistics For The GameHappy Friday. Let’s start the day off with a trip down to the sunny shores of South Beach. The defending champs are in Florida to take on the slumping Miami Heat. Miami’s lost both matchups so far this year, both by 15 or more points.
The Heat look to stop their slide against the Celtics, while at the same time Boston looks to avoid back to back losses. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that these two teams have history. Both squads have met four different times in the post-season since both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum were drafted and both guys have played the Heat a total of 48 times.
The history and bad blood remain, even if Miami hasn’t really held up their side of the deal this season. Barring another meeting in the post-season, this will be the 2nd last time these two team meet this year; don’t be surprised if Miami doesn’t go without a fight.
Celtics/Heat, live from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Celtics vs. Heat | Analysis

Road Dogs
The Celtics are 24-7 this year on the road this year, 17-5 when playing the Eastern Conference and averaging 117.9 PPG in these games. They’ve won 8 of their L9 games on the road and enter tonight’s matchup off a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. To say that loss was frustrating for the boys in Beantown, would be an understatement.
The Celtics shot 63 3-pointers in that game and that may not sound great, 33 of those 3s were WIDE OPEN 3s (no defender within 6 FT) ( via NBA Stats), 21 attempts were OPEN (4-6ft closest defender) and just 9 of them were tightly contested.
It’s this same style of play that has worked for the Celtics for almost 3 years now. Since Head Coach Joe Mazzulla took over, the Celtics have won 73% of their regular season games, they’ve made the Conference Finals in all 3 years and have a championship to show for it. Stay the course, the ship will correct and the shots will start to drop.
Post-Jimmy Stress Disorder
It’s been tough down in Miami since Jimmy Butler’s departure. The Heat are 16-24 this without Jimmy in the lineup, averaging just 107.4 PPG and shooting just 45% from the field. Points have been scarce and with the variety of injuries for Miami, it feels like more of the same tonight.

Sam Hauser o9.5 Points (-110) via BetOnline

With so many injuries on the Celtics side of things, we’re looking at some value on a guy that was ice cold against Oklahoma City. Sam Hauser hit 7 3s in a single quarter just 2 games ago, but followed that up with a 1/4 night with just 11 minutes played. Hauser’s hit this line in 4 of his L6 games without Jaylen Brown.
Miami ranks 25th in 3s allowed this year and Hauser had 15 points in 25 minutes against this same squad just a few weeks ago. Hauser’s shooting 46% on the road and 44% from beyond the arc. His volume is what remains questionable, but with the string of injuries for the Celtics, I love him to see a boost in minutes tonight.
Sam Hauser o9.5 Points (-110)
Bam Adebayo o21.5 P/A (-106) via BetOnline

Bam kills the Celtics, it’s really that simple. He’s cleared this line in 8 of his L10 games against the Celtics and he’s averaging 21.9 PPG and 3.5 APG. He’s taking 19 shot attempts per game in these games and he’s shooting 45% from the field.
Bam kills the Celtics, that’s the pitch.
