Grizzlies vs Lakers NBA Predictions & Picks (11/13)
The Grizzlies and Lakers will meet tonight for the second time in this 2024-25 season.
They previously collided at FedExForum exactly one week ago as the Grizzlies notched a 131-114 victory over the Lakers to kickstart a three-game win streak. Memphis most recently picked up a 134-89 blowout win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday as five different players scored 16-plus points.
Having said that, the loss to the Grizzlies gave the Lakers a much-needed jolt. Since that encounter, Los Angeles has won back-to-back outings against the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors. Although neither team poses much of a threat, the fact that JJ Redick’s squad outscored the 76ers and Raptors by an average of 15 points shouldn’t be ignored.
Another thing that both sides have in common — besides win streaks — is that they’re dealing with several injuries.
Ja Morant (hip) and Desmond Bane (oblique) have already been ruled out for the Grizzlies while Brandon Clarke (toe), Marcus Smart (ankle), and Vince Williams Jr. (leg) will likely all be game-time decisions.
On the other side of the court, the Lakers will be without Christian Wood (knee) and Jalen Hood-Schifino (groin). Anthony Davis (foot/eye) and D’Angelo Russell (illness) are banged up but will likely suit up while Jaxon Hayes (ankle) is questionable at the moment.
Anthony Davis (foot/eye) is listed as ‘probable’ to suit up for the Lakers vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
While the Grizzlies got the last laugh over the Lakers last week, replicating history won’t be easy this time around.
After all, tonight’s affair takes place at Staples Center crypto.com Arena where the Lakers are a perfect 5-0 this season. Not only did Los Angeles cover the spread in all five of those outings, it also boasts a plus-9.6 average scoring margin at home — seventh-best in the Association.
The Lakers simply know how to score in their backyard as they own the NBA’s best offensive efficiency at home while averaging 50.3% field-goal (2nd) and 37.4% three-point (11th) percentages, too. The Grizzlies are a top-10 team in all three categories in regards to road play, leaving time to tell if they can keep up that pace in Los Angeles.
It’s also worth noting that the Lakers are a resounding 26-8 SU (18-16 ATS) as the home favorites dating back to the 2023-24 campaign. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, are 16-22 SU (22-16 ATS) as road underdogs during that stretch.
Can the Grizzlies pull off an upset without Ja Morant (hip) in the lineup?
With the Grizzlies down several key players tonight, I’m taking the Lakers to win. Los Angeles will be motivated to avenge last week’s loss and its perfect home record indicates there’s a good chance of that happening. It also helps that Memphis has only covered the spread once in its last seven road games at crypto.com Arena.
I’m also going with the Lakers on the spread after taking the above into account. Again, they’re 5-0 ATS at home this season whereas the Grizzlies are only 2-3 ATS on the road. I expect we’ll see a close game early on before the Lakers’ healthy stars help their team pull away.

Best Grizzlies vs Lakers NBA Player Prop (11/13)
You can’t go wrong with several Grizzlies vs. Lakers player props tonight. While certain options provide decent value, I can’t help but go with Austin Reaves o2.5 threes made (+112) for my pick of the night.
Reaves has been money from the outside this season, averaging a career-high 2.7 threes made per game with a 37.0% success rate. The ex-Oklahoma Sooner has hit the Over on this prop in five of his last 10 appearances thus far, which includes going 3-1 in his last four outings.
Even though the Grizzles know how to defend well, they’re surrendering the 6.1 threes made per game to guards this season. There’s a good chance of that trend continuing considering Morant and Smart’s injury situation.
Back Reaves to have success from the perimeter.
