Lakers vs Kings NBA Predictions & Picks (12/19)
It’s the second meeting of the 2024-25 NBA season between these Pacific Division rivals. The Lakers got the last laugh at crypto.com Arena back on Oct. 26, emerging with a 131-127 victory as LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 63 points, 23 rebounds, and 12 assists.
Having said that, it was also a rare win for Los Angeles as far as this all-time rivalry goes. The Lakers are only 1-5 SU in their last six games vs. the Kings, as well as 1-4 SU across their five previous trips to Golden 1 Center. They also covered the spread just once during that stretch.
The Lakers are feeling good about themselves, though, following Sunday’s 116-110 win against the Memphis Grizzlies. J.J. Redick’s team is now 4-8 SU in its last 12 games, leaving time to tell if it can win consecutive outings for the first time since Nov. 16-19.
As for the Kings, they’re looking for revenge after Monday’s 130-129 loss to the Denver Nuggets snapped their win streak at three games. Although Sacramento has been far from perfect, it has shown the ability to bounce back from defeat, going 4-2 SU in its last six games following a loss.
How will the Kings respond to their latest loss?
It’s hard to imagine the Lakers’ luck changing based on their recent offensive play. They’ve been one of the NBA’s worst teams in multiple categories across their last six games as they average 102.5 points (30), 38.3 field goals made (27th), 44.5 FG% (25th), and 31.4 3P% (25th).
For comparison, the Kings are averaging 130.3 PPG on .505/.411/.901 splits in their last four games. It’s clear that Sacramento is the better-equipped team if this game turns into a shootout, which it could considering how the projected total is currently sitting at 230 points.
If the Lakers continue to miss their shots, the Kings will be ready to pounce on any mistakes seeing as they average 51.8 rebounds (15th) compared to the former’s 49.2 RPG clip (29th).
Los Angeles could also be in trouble due to its top stars — Davis and James — being banged up with foot-related injuries at the moment. James is currently projected to be a game-time decision this evening while James is probable to suit up.
The Kings could be in trouble as well, though, as Domantas Sabonis (back), Keegan Murray (ankle), and Kevin Huerter (shoulder) are all questionable with a myriad of ailments.
Lakers superstar LeBron James (foot) is questionable to face the Kings tonight.
I’m inclined to back the Kings at home tonight. At the end of the day, the Lakers are far too difficult to trust from a betting perspective until more consistent results are shown. The Kings, on the other hand, have at least won more than they’ve lost lately and boast an offense that might be too much for the visitors to handle in their current shape.
With that in mind, let’s also take the Over on the 230-point total. Affairs between these division rivals tend to feature a ton of points as the last 10 Lakers vs. Kings tilts averaged a combined 245.5 PPG, finishing with more points than tonight’s projected total eight times. That includes when they combined for 258 points in regulation at crypto.com Arena in October.
With the Over being 5-0 in the last five games at Golden 1 Center this season, I expect we’ll see another barn-burner in Sacramento.

Best Lakers vs Kings NBA Player Prop (12/19)
I can’t help but like De’Aaron Fox o7.5 total assists (+118 on SportsBetting) as one of this evening’s most enticing Lakers vs. Kings player prop bets.
As the season nears the halfway mark, Fox continues to be one of the NBA’s better playmakers. The former All-Star point guard is averaging 6.1 assists through 27 games — tied for his best average in the last four campaigns. His production has increased to a solid 8.0 APG in his last four outings, resulting in the Over going 3-1 as Fox never finished with fewer than seven helpers along the way.
I see the ex-Kentucky playmaker having another strong showing against the Lakers, who are allowing the fifth-most assists to PGs this season. After he racked up 12 assists against Los Angeles two months ago, I’m loving this plus-money prop.
