There’s a good chance tonight’s meeting is the final meaningful NBA game until the 2024-25 campaign begins. After all, the Celtics have taken a commanding 3-0 and it’s hard to imagine them losing a game at this rate.

The Mavericks haven’t posed a challenge throughout the series. Sure, they’ve pressed and frustrated the Celtics at times, but it hasn’t been anything the latter was unable to handle. Some people thought that the NBA Finals moving to Dallas would give the underdogs an edge but not even that could help the Mavs.

I just don’t see the Mavericks turning things around tonight. They had next to no offensive success in the first three games of the series, averaging just 95.3 points per game on .444/.282/.712 splits while being held to fewer than 100 points in each contest. It doesn’t help that Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and P.J. Washington are the only Dallas players averaging a double-digit point total.

Meanwhile, the Celtics’ entire starting lineup is averaging 15.7 or more points as the team shoots 46.4% from the floor and 33.9% from deep.

This series has been one-sided in the Celtics’ favor. 

It’s also hard to doubt the Celtics when they’ve won 10 games in a row this postseason. They haven’t lost a game since the second round of the playoffs, having outscored their last 10 opponents by 9.4 PPG. Additionally, seven of those opponents were held to 102 or fewer points.

The Mavericks have now not only lost five straight games in June as well as seven in a row to the Celtics. In other words, I’m confident that Boston is winning tonight.

The Celtics are much better than the Mavericks in every aspect and have completely dominated the NBA Finals so far. When Dallas’ best player is struggling to stay in the game, there’s zero reason to believe in an upset.
