The Minnesota Timberwolves (47-21) are on the hunt for a fourth win in a row when they host the Denver Nuggets (47-21) for a 9 p.m. ET showdown airing live on NBA TV on Tuesday, March 19.

The Nuggets are on bounce-back watch after their winning streak was snapped at five games with Sunday’s 107-105 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, are coming off back-to-back victories over the Utah Jazz, most recently notching a 114-104 victory on Monday.
Unsurprisingly, oddsmakers are fans of these teams when it comes to the title picture. After all, Denver currently holds the second-best 2023-24 NBA Finals odds (+325) while Minnesota is tied for ninth (+3000), per Bovada’s futures markets.
But for now, let’s focus on the present by exploring my Nuggets vs. Timberwolves NBA prediction and best bets.

Nuggets vs Timberwolves Prediction & NBA Picks Today (3/19): Northwest Division Rivals Collide
Despite being Northwest Division rivals, this is only the second Nuggets-Timberwolves matchup of the 2023-24 schedule. The rivals previously collided at Target Center on Nov. 1, resulting in a 110-89 victory for the Timberwolves in a game where they didn’t trail for a single second.
This game is critical to both teams’ playoff chances, though Minnesota and Denver sit second and third, respectively, in the West with matching 47-21 records, putting both of them just 0.5 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for first place in the conference. Having said that, the T-Wolves have had better success against the Northwest Division, going 11-2 SU thus far while the Nuggets are 6-5 SU.
Both sides also boast their fair share of momentum ahead of tonight’s festivities. The Timberwolves are 5-2 SU across their last seven games while also winning 12 of their last 15 Western Conference collisions.
On the flip side, the Nuggets have won 11 of their last 13 outings and are 30-11 SU dating back to Dec. 18. For reference, their 73.2% winning percentage during that 41-game stretch is second to only the Boston Celtics (79.1%).
The Nuggets have been piling up wins over the last three months.
But as solid as the T-wolves have been this season, their injury situation could make winning difficult tonight. Rudy Gobert is questionable to play after missing back-to-back games with a rib injury while Naz Reid’s status is also up in the air after exiting Monday’s victory with a head injury. That’s without mentioning how Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) is still sidelined for the foreseeable future.
As for the Nuggets, Zeke Nnaji (back/questionable) is their only injury designation.
It’s hard to imagine Minnesota slowing Nikola Jokic down if Gobert and Reid join Towns on the sidelines tonight. Jokic is Bovada’s -275 NBA MVP favorite and it isn’t difficult to see why as the Serbian superstar averages 26.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks across his last eight games.
It should also be noted that the Nuggets are 17-9 SU as road favorites this season while the Timberwolves are 3-0 SU as underdogs at Target Center.
Can the Timberwolves win if Rudy Gobert (ribs) doesn’t play tonight?
Due to the Timberwolves being banged up and having just played last night, I’m taking the Nuggets to win. Denver knows how to bounce back from losses and would potentially still be on a winning streak had it not been for Kyrie Irving’s buzzer-beater the other night. At the same time, though…
I will take Minnesota to cover the spread. Even though Denver is 9-4 ATS in its last 13 games, it’s only 1-5 ATS on its last six trips to Target Center. The Nuggets are also only 11-14-1 ATS as the away favorite this season, meaning it’s likelier that the Timberwolves keep this game closer than the oddsmakers project.

Best Nuggets vs Timberwolves NBA Prop Bet (3/19)
Let’s take the Over on Anthony Edwards’ 28.5-point total for the best Nuggets vs. Timberwolves player prop tonight.
Edwards has been one of the NBA’s best players this season and has upped his play as of late, averaging 29.3 points across his last 15 games. Although that’s fewer points than tonight’s projected total, the 22-year-old phenom finished with the Over nine times during that stretch — including in each of his last three games.
With the Timberwolves going up against most experts’ championship favorites tonight, Edwards will be leaned upon to keep his team in the game, likely resulting in his hitting the Over again.
