Spurs vs Bucks NBA Predictions & Picks (1/8)

Life hasn’t gone smoothly for either team lately, highlighting the importance of picking up a win at Fiserv Forum tonight.

Just when it looked like they were turning a corner, the Spurs are back in another rut with five losses in their last eight games. They’re looking to avoid a third consecutive loss tonight after falling 114-110 to the Chicago Bulls on Monday in a game that saw the Spurs blow a 15-point first-half lead. Making matters worse, San Antonio is just 2-4 SU in its last six road games.

As for the Bucks, they’ve seen better days after dropping four of their last six outings overall. Having said that, Doc Rivers’ team showed life two nights ago in a 128-104 win over the Toronto Raptors, made possible by Damian Lillard’s team-high 25-point effort that included shooting 5-of-8 from the three-point line.

That win came on the road, though, and now the Bucks are at Fiserv Forum where they’re 0-3 SU with a minus-4.0 average scoring margin in their last three home games. What’s worse is that each of those losses came against the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers, who’ve combined for just 25 wins this year.

The Bucks haven’t won at Fiserv Forum since Dec. 21, 2024. 

While these teams are averaging similar point totals this season, Milwaukee is the much more accurate team. As the Bucks are shooting 47.6% from the field (7th) and 38.8% from the three-point line (2nd) this season, the Spurs are averaging an uninspiring 45.5 FG% (21st) and 34.1 3P% (23rd). It’s hard to imagine the visitors keeping things close if this game turns into a shootout.

Let’s also not forget that the Spurs are only 7-15 SU (31.8%) as underdogs this season whereas the Bucks are 16-10 SU (61.5%) when the odds are in their favor.

With that in mind, it’s best to back the Bucks to win tonight. Although both sides have their fair share of issues, the Bucks are the more well-rounded team and have enough talent to win for the first time in nearly a month at home. The Spurs have potential, but I just don’t see an upset happening based on their recent road performances.

The Under on the 224.5-point total is also the right call, especially since the Under is 5-1 in the Spurs’ last six games, as well as 4-1 in the Bucks’ last five at home. Oh yeah; four of the last five San Antonio-Milwaukee matchups finished below their projected totals, too.

Best Spurs vs Bucks NBA Player Prop Bet (1/8)

If he ends up playing tonight, I recommend taking Giannis Antetokounmpo u30.5 total points (-125 on SportsBetting) for the best Spurs vs. Bucks player prop pick.

Antetokounmpo’s performances have been mixed ever since he returned from a four-game absence due to a knee injury. The two-time NBA MVP is averaging 24.8 points in the four games since then, finishing with the Under on this prop three times. That includes when he only mustered up 11 points against the Raptors on Monday in a game where he cut a finger on his right hand, potentially affecting his shooting ability for the foreseeable future.

Although he dropped 44 points in his last encounter with the Spurs, it’s worth noting that the Under is 6-2 in Antetokounmpo’s last eight games against the franchise. I can see the “Greek Freak” still having an impactful performance tonight, however, I don’t see it happening in the former of another 30-plus-point effort.
