Thunder vs Cavaliers NBA Predictions & Picks (1/8)
There’s a pretty good chance that these teams will be the final two left standing once the Larry O’Brien Trophy is handed out in June. These contenders have dominated the competition in their respective conferences, proven by the fact that the Thunder (+285) and Cavaliers (+800) hold the second- and third-best 2024-25 NBA Championship odds, respectively, on BetOnline.
Both sides are also entering tonight’s action with matching 10-game win streaks they’re looking to keep intact. The Thunder’s latest effort came in the form of an impressive 105-92 victory against the Boston Celtics on Sunday, solidifying the former as a legitimate championship threat. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, picked up a 115-105 win over the Hornets on that same night, which also marked their eighth straight win at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Most of the Cavs’ recent success stems from an offense that has averaged 125.2 points on .495/.405/.762 splits in the last 10 games. Conversely, the Thunder have used defense to build up their win streak, holding their last 10 opponents to an average of 101.7 PPG while limiting five foes to under 100 points.
Do the Cavaliers have what it takes to overcome the Thunders’ recently improved defensive play?
When it comes to the recent history between these teams, the Thunder have the edge with a 10-5 SU record over the Cavaliers in their last 15 meetings. Cleveland hasn’t beaten Oklahoma City since December 2022, losing the last three encounters in a row by an average of 7.7 PPG. Additionally, OKC has covered the spread in six of its last seven outings at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Having said that, the visitor’s injury situation could make winning more difficult this time around. In addition to Chet Holmgren (hip) and Adam Flagler (hand) still being sidelined with long-term injuries, the Thunder will also be without Ajay Mitchell (toe) and Alex Caruso (hip) — one of their best defenders — tonight.
The Cavaliers are slightly banged up, however, no one has been ruled out yet. Both Sam Merrill (ankle) and Isaac Okoro (shoulder) are the only players with an injury designation and both are questionable to suit up, meaning they could potentially be making their 2025 calendar debut tonight.
Will the Thunder’s healthy players step up on the road to continue their win streak tonight?
In what could be a close game, I’m taking the Cavaliers to successfully defend home court. The Thunder are a legitimate contender, however, their injury situation will limit their potential tonight, especially if the Cavs’ offense hits its stride right out of the gate. Cleveland should be able to hold down the fort at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, where they’ve only lost once this season.
Throw in the fact that they’re also 13-6 ATS at home, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cavaliers cover as the 3-point favorites, too.

Best Thunder vs Cavaliers NBA Player Prop Bet (1/8)
When it comes to tonight’s best Thunder vs. Cavaliers player prop bets, you can’t go wrong with Cason Wallace to record 2+ steals (-143 on SportsBetting).
After being named to last year’s All-Rookie team, Wallace has become one of the Thunder’s most important players from a defensive standpoint this season. The former Kentucky product is averaging 1.8 steals per game in Year 2 and that average has jumped up to 2.0 in his last 14 outings. Not only did he make good on this prop in 11 of those appearances, but he’s also finished with two-plus steals in each of his last seven games.
Although the Cavaliers are giving up the third-fewest turnovers this season, they’re averaging the 18th-most giveaways at home. In other words, don’t be surprised if Wallace pulls through on this prop again.
