Timberwolves vs Magic NBA Predictions & Picks (1/9)
The Magic head into tonight’s NBA action looking to extend their success over the Timberwolves. Orlando has emerged victorious in eight of its last 11 encounters with Minnesota, however, it’s worth noting that the T-Wolves are an impressive 3-1 SU with a plus-15.8 averaging scoring margin in their last four trips to Kia Center.
The Timberwolves have some momentum on their side as they look to pick up another win in Orlando. They’ve won back-to-back games after a brief skid, most recently picking up Tuesday’s 104-97 victory vs. the New Orleans Pelicans that saw Anthony Edwards dominate with 32 points and nine rebounds in 38 minutes of action. He’s been on fire lately, averaging 40.7 points on .494/.590/.864 splits in his last three games.
The Magic, meanwhile, have done a lot more losing than winning lately. Even though they’re coming off Monday’s 103-94 win over the New York Knicks, they’re still just 5-7 SU in their last 12 games. That’s without mentioning how Orlando is 1-3 SU in its last four home games during that stretch with the sole victory coming against the lowly Brooklyn Nets.
Will the Timberwolves take advantage of the Magic’s recent struggles?
The Magic’s injury situation has played a big role in the recent struggles and those issues could continue tonight. Franz Wagner (oblique), Garry Harris (hamstring), and Jalen Suggs (back) have all been ruled out for Thursday’s affair while Paolo Banchero (oblique) will likely be a game-time decision.
The Timberwolves are nowhere nearly as banged up as their opponents with Rob Dillingham (ankle, week-to-week) being the team’s only injury designation.
Taking the above into account, let’s keep things simple by backing the Timberwolves to win and cover the spread tonight.
It’s clear that the Timberwolves are the better team and I just don’t see the Magic keeping pace given the latter’s injury situation. Minnesota has also proven that it can thrive playing at Kia Center, winning its last two visits by at least 18 points. Needless to say, this game could get ugly for the hosts.

Best Timberwolves vs. Magic NBA Player Prop Bet (1/9)
If you’re hoping to add a Timberwolves vs. Magic player prop bet to your betting slip, I suggest sprinkling some money on Julius Randle o4.5 assists (-110 on SportsBetting).
Randle’s playmaking abilities have improved in recent seasons and that trend has followed him to Minnesota, averaging 4.4 assists in his first 36 games with the Timberwolves. The two-time All-NBA power forward’s performances have improved to the tune of 5.7 APG in his last 10 outings, hitting the Over on this prop seven times along the way. That includes a 5-1 success rate in his last six road games.
The Over is also 3-1 in Randle’s last four games against the Magic, averaging 5.0 APG. At the end of the day, the former Kentucky Wildcat should pull through again as long as his teammates continue to shoot the ball well.
Best Timberwolves vs. Magic Player Prop Bet: Julius Randle o4.5 Assists (-110)
