Round 1 of the 2023-24 NBA playoffs continues with a three-game schedule on Friday, April 26. One of the matchups involves the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns meeting for Game 3 of their series when they collide at Footprint Center for a 10:30 p.m. ET tipoff.

— Minnesota Timberwolves (@Timberwolves) April 26, 2024
The Timberwolves handled their business at home, securing a 2-0 series lead with a 105-93 victory over the Suns in Game 2. Interestingly enough, it was Jaden McDaniels who was Minnesota’s top performer, scoring a game-high 25 points while adding eight rebounds and three assists.
Can the change of scenery help Phoenix? Or will Minnesota find a way to become one win away from the second round?
Let’s address those questions and tonight’s best betting opportunities by getting into my Timberwolves vs. Suns Game 3 predictions and NBA picks.

Timberwolves vs Suns Game 3 Predictions & NBA Picks Today (4/26)
If the Suns want to get back into this series, they must re-discover their offense. Frank Vogel’s team was held to fewer than 100 points for the second straight time in Game 2, only finishing with 95 while shooting 44.9% from the floor and 36.4% from the three-point line.
As a result, Phoenix is averaging .444/.340/.795 splits this series. For comparison, Minnesota is putting up a line of .476/.328/.885.
It also didn’t help that the Suns completely fell apart in the second half of the game. Despite leading 51-50 at halftime, Phoenix couldn’t build upon that momentum as it was outscored 55-42 in the final two frames.
It’ll be interesting to see if returning to Footprint Center will help the Suns. Even though they’re a solid 25-16 SU in Phoenix this season, they’ve lost back-to-back home games by an average of 10.5 points.
The Suns are hoping that the home crowd will boost them to victory in Game 3.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have been producing results on the road, going 5-2 SU across their last seven away games. Additionally, Minnesota is a solid 10-4 ATS in its last 14 games as the visitor.
Having said that, the T-wolves haven’t beaten the Suns on the road since March 18, 2021, losing each of their last six trips to Phoenix. That includes a 97-87 road loss to the Suns back on April 5.
It isn’t all bad news for the Timberwolves, though. For instance, the Suns are only 2-5 ATS in their last seven games on top of being 4-10 ATS across their last 14 outings on a Friday. It’s also worth noting that Phoenix is only 15-19-1 ATS as the home favorite in 2023-24.
Additionally, the Timberwolves own the eighth-best winning percentage (63.0%) when playing with the same amount of rest as their opponent. On the flip side, the Suns only have a 50.0% success rate (18th) in that regard.
Will the Timberwolves finally end their losing streak in Phoenix tonight?
After what I’ve seen so far, I’m backing a Timberwolves victory. The Suns are in disarray — especially on offense — and haven’t been getting much production from their best players outside of Kevin Durant. The Timberwolves are the deeper team with players who step up when the stars don’t, and I think that’ll make the difference tonight.
With that in mind, let’s take Minnesota to cover as 4-point underdogs. As mentioned before, the Suns are struggling to cover the spread lately whereas the Timberwolves have a 71.4% success rate in their last 14 road games. Even if Phoenix manages to win, I don’t think it’ll be by two or more possessions.

Best Timberwolves vs Suns NBA Game 3 Prop Bet (4/26)
There are a few Timberwolves vs. Suns Game 3 props worth checking out, including the Over on Anthony Edwards’ 5.5-assist total (+102).
Although he’s typically known for his scoring, Edwards has finished with the Over on this prop in each of this series’ first two games. After racking up six assists in Game 1, the 22-year-old phenom finished Game 2 with a whopping eight helpers. He clearly knows how to find the open man and will likely continue to rack up assists if the Suns keep putting him in a position to pass the ball.
With the Suns surrendering the 11th-most assists to shooting guards, I’m feeling confident about this prop.
