The Warriors returned to the win column on Sunday with a hard-fought 118-110 victory over the Utah Jazz as Klay Thompson scored a game-high 32 points. Meanwhile, the Lakers hope to get back on track after falling 127-117 to the Minnesota Timberwolves over the weekend.
Los Angeles also heads into tonight’s game tied for BetOnline’s eighth-best odds to win the 2023-24 NBA Finals (+2200) while Golden State is tied for 12th at +4000.

Warriors vs Lakers Predictions & NBA Picks Today (4/9): Points, Points, & More Points
Tonight’s showdown is a potential Play-In Tournament preview. The Lakers currently occupy the Western Conference’s No. 9 seed while the Warriors trail them by 1.5 games at the No. 10 spot, meaning the Pacific Division rivals would collide in the opening round if the standings don’t change.
It’s also the fourth and final time that Golden State and Los Angeles will meet during the regular season. Although the Lakers opened the season series with a 145-144 victory, it was the Warriors who won the last two matchups, most recently picking up a 128-121 win at crypto.com Arena on March 16.
That victory was just one of the seven that the Warriors have amassed over their last eight games. Steve Kerr’s team is known for its offensive talent, but it’s been impressive defensive play that has led to the Warriors’ latest success as they’ve held their last eight opponents to 102.9 PPG on .435/.333/.755 splits.
Having said that, the Lakers own the league’s second-best winning percentage (81.8%) since their last loss to the Warriors. Los Angeles has had one of the best attacks in the NBA since March 18, ranking first in points, seventh in assists, second in field-goal percentage, and eighth in three-point percentage.
The Lakers have been dominating the competition since losing to the Warriors last month.
Playing on the road has its disadvantages, but don’t tell that to the Warriors, who are 5-1 SU in their last six away games. At the same time, the Lakers were victorious in four of their five previous home games. Golden State is also 6-14 SU as road underdogs this season whereas Los Angeles is 22-7 SU as the home favorite.
And even though the Warriors won on their last trip to crypto.com Arena, that might’ve been an anomaly. Golden State is 2-8 SU in its last 10 road games against Los Angeles, which includes only covering the spread once on the last seven trips.
When it comes to injuries, both sides are hurting at the moment. Dario Saric (knee) has already been ruled out by the Warriors while Gary Payton II (ankle) and Andrew Wiggins (ankle) are both probable.
The Lakers’ situation isn’t any better. On top of Christian Wood (knee) and Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) still being out, LeBron James (illness) and Anthony Davis (eye) are both questionable.
Having said that, the Lakers’ superstar duo is as tough as they come. Davis has only missed one of the last 29 games while LeBron suited up in 19 of the previous 22.
LeBron James (illness) questionable for Tuesday.

In a game that could go either way, I’m taking the Warriors. The Lakers have been great at home all year, but they did lose to the Warriors not too long ago and won’t be playing with a full lineup tonight. Golden State has been playing well enough to capitalize on those injuries, so look for the visitor to steal the win.
I also recommend backing the Over on the 235.5-point total. For starters, the Over is a whopping 11-5 in Los Angeles’ last 16 games. It’s also 6-1 in the Lakers’ last seven outings on a Tuesday as well as 9-3 in Golden State’s 12 previous divisional matchups.
Additionally, the Over is 4-1 across the last five Warriors-Lakers meetings, which averaged 245.2 PPG.

Best Warriors vs Lakers NBA Prop Bet (4/9)
If there’s one player who loves facing the Lakers, it’s Stephen Curry. That’s why I’m taking him to record 29+ points for the best player prop bet tonight.
Curry is averaging a whopping 33.2 points across his last six games against the Lakers. He made good on this prop in five of those outings, which includes tallying at least 31 points in each of this season’s three previous meetings. Additionally, he’s also pulled through in each of his last three trips to crypto.com Arena.
With a lot of points projected to be on the board tonight, I’d be surprised if Curry isn’t involved in a big way.
