Warriors vs Nuggets NBA Cup Predictions & Picks (12/3)

After an impressive 12-3 start to the 2024-25 season, the Warriors are falling back to earth.

Steve Kerr’s team suffered its fourth loss in a row on Saturday, falling 113-105 to the Phoenix Suns on the road. It was an incomplete performance by the Warriors, who trailed by 17 points at halftime and could never get back into the game. They’ve now been outscored by an average of 7.5 points per game amid their slump.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets are returning home after picking up a 126-122 loss against the LA Clippers two nights ago. Even though Nikola Jokic dominated with yet another triple-double (28 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists), it wasn’t enough to avoid the clutches of defeat.

A return to Ball Arena might not even mean that much considering how the Nuggets have surrendered 134.0 PPG in back-to-back home losses.

The Nuggets are trying to avoid losing a third straight outing at Ball Arena. 

The good news for Jokic & Co. is that they’ve had plenty of recent home success against tonight’s opponent. After all, the Nuggets are 5-0 SU across their last five times hosting the Warriors at Ball Arena, boasting a plus-6.6 average scoring margin along the way.

Additionally, Denver is on a seven-game win streak against Golden State, regardless of where they’ve clashed. Even though streaks don’t last forever, it’s hard to argue against the Nuggets when they’ve reached that level of domination.

The Nuggets are also heavy spread favorites after going 3-3 ATS in their last six games. Although the Warriors are a decent 6-5 ATS on the road this season, they’ve only covered the spread once in their last five games. Their outlook is even worse with a 1-5 ATS record across their six most recent away contests.

The Warriors will likely have Stephen Curry (knee) in the lineup tonight, however, Draymond Green (calf) will likely be absent after failing to practice on Monday. Peyton Watson (groin) and Aaron Gordon (calf) are also banged up for the Nuggets, however, both men are expected to suit up in Denver.

Is Stephen Curry healthy enough to lead the Warriors to an upset win tonight? 

Tonight’s game is the Nuggets’ to lose at this point. The Warriors are struggling to score points amid their slump and I just don’t see them keeping up with the Nuggets, who boast a top-five offense this season. The fact that Golden State hasn’t defeated Denver since March 2022 is another reason to side with the hosts, especially with the way they’re dominating the former at Ball Arena.

With that being said, I expect the Nuggets to cover the spread — something they’ve done six times in their last nine encounters with the Warriors.

Best Warriors vs Nuggets NBA Player Prop (12/3)

With the way he’s been performing, it’s a no-brainer to go with Nikola Jokic scoring 25+ points AND a Nuggets victory (-125) for tonight’s best player prop bet.

Since I’m expecting a Nuggets win, it only makes sense that Jokic would play a big role in any potential victory. The three-time NBA MVP has been on fire to begin the season, averaging 29.6 points on .562/.508/.819 splits across his first 15 outings. He’s only been limited to fewer than 25 points three times so far, which means he owns an 80.0% success rate when it comes to hitting the mark.

Jokic has also finished with 25-plus points in nine of his last 10 meetings with the Warriors, averaging 30.5 PPG while shooting 59.2% from the floor along the way.

In other words, you can’t go wrong with this NBA prop.
