Saturday presents a perfect storm-fading opportunity, with Vanderbilt coming off a court-storming win over Kentucky. Meanwhile, Oklahoma is in desperate need of a conference victory and finds themselves in an ideal spot at home. With Vanderbilt’s road struggles and a potential lookahead to Florida, the Sooners are in prime position to capitalize.

We finally made it—we get to fade a court storm. It feels like ages since we have had the chance to go against a team riding an emotional high, but Vanderbilt’s fans stormed the court after their win over Kentucky as short underdogs last Saturday. For those unfamiliar, storm fading is simply fading a team after a big win that led to a court-storming celebration.

The Sooners have been disappointing in conference play, starting 2-5 with losses to Alabama in their first true road game, Texas A&M (twice), Georgia, and Texas. Oklahoma is coming off a seven-point loss to Texas A&M on Tuesday. They desperately need a win, and there is no better opportunity than sneaking past a team fresh off its second “Super Bowl” of the season—the first being Vanderbilt’s 76-75 win over Tennessee.
Fortunately for Oklahoma, they thrive at home, ranking 26th in eFG% offense, 19th in two-point percentage, and 8th in free throw percentage. While their defense struggles inside, they make up for it by forcing turnovers, controlling the boards, and staying disciplined.
Vanderbilt, on the other hand, has struggled in four true road games, ranking 29th worst in two-point defense. They also send opponents to the line at an alarming rate, sitting 59th in free throw rate defense—two weaknesses the Sooners are primed to exploit.
With a matchup against No. 5 Florida looming on Tuesday, Vanderbilt could easily be looking ahead. Finding a lookahead spot in the SEC is tough, but an unranked Oklahoma team versus No. 5 Florida? Vanderbilt wants Florida more. Give me the Sooners.
Best Bet: Oklahoma (-3.5) on BetOnline
