Last week, a disappointing season for Kansas seemingly hit its lowest point with an ugly 34-point loss at BYU. But is an even lower point in store tonight as the newly unranked Jayhawks visit Colorado (11:00 pm ET, ESPN)?
Kansas (18-9, 9-7 Big 12) responded to Tuesday’s 91-57 loss in Provo with a 32-point home win over Oklahoma State on Saturday, but that was not enough to prevent their fall out of the college basketball rankings after being ranked #1 to open the season.
A win over Colorado (11-16, 2-14 Big 12) will not move the needle at all, but it will end a four-game road losing streak.
However, even though the Buffaloes sit at the bottom of the Big 12 standings, a win is anything but a formality for KU, who won by only 12 when the two teams met in Lawrence 13 days ago.

Jayhawks vs Buffaloes Analysis and Prediction
Should we read anything into Kansas’ 96-64 demolition of Oklahoma State on Saturday?
No, we shouldn’t, given that the Cowboys are 0-8 on the road in Big 12 play and have lost six of those eight games by double digits.
That said, it was just the performance that the Jayhawks needed to put in after a showing of the opposite nature at BYU.
There were contributions up and down the lineup against Oklahoma State, with four players scoring in double figures as Kansas shot 46.7% from three and 52.1% overall from the field.
But will they finally deliver back-to-back wins for the first time in over a month? The Jayhawks are 0-4 SU and ATS in their last four games after a win, and the last time they recorded consecutive victories was a 74-61 win at TCU on January 22.
That was also the last time that KU won on the road, as they have since gone down at Baylor, Kansas State, Utah, and BYU.
Colorado enters tonight’s game with two wins in three games after starting Big 12 play with 13 consecutive losses, and they are coming off an impressive 76-74 win over Baylor.
Despite the rout of Oklahoma State, it is difficult to have much faith in Kansas on the road, even against the worst team in the conference.
That said, the fact that they have stunk it up on the road presents a value opportunity here, because they would otherwise be favored by double digits tonight.
It is a dangerous thing to put any level of trust in a team that has proven itself to be rather untrustworthy, but if the Jayhawks put in the kind of performance that they are certainly capable of against a bad team, they should win this one going away.
Jayhawks vs Buffaloes Expert Picks
Don’t go wild on this one, especially if you have had a rough night with your college basketball picks and want to try to end the night on a positive note. But sprinkle a little bit on both Kansas and the over here. Stringing together a couple of good offensive performances might be asking a lot, but thanks to their underperformances on the road, the numbers are rather reasonable.
