NCAA Basketball Best Bets – November 25th, 2024
Memphis vs UConn Predictions
Best Bet: Memphis/UConn Under 148 (-110) BetOnline
The Memphis Tigers take on the UConn Huskies in Hawaii for the first round of the Maui Invitational, and despite their pace of play, we are taking the under.
Memphis is a very fast team, ranking 26th in pace, but they do turn the ball over very frequently. They are shoot the deep ball very well, ranking 3rd in the country shooting 46%. However, they rarely ever let it fly, ranking just 306th in 3P Rate. Defensively, Memphis is Top 50 in the country, and they should know they need to slowdown the offense of UConn.
The Huskies play extremely slow. They should control this pace, ranking 304th in possession per game, and can easily win it on the defensive side of the ball. UConn currently ranks 7th in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency and 2nd in eFG%. They are the best team at defending shots inside the arc, which Memphis shoots over 69% of the time, and clean up the offensive glass very well.
UConn is also 39th in TO Rate, meaning they could find themselves some easy steals to slow down the Tigers even more. I do lean with UConn to cover, but ultimately I see this one staying in the high 60s.
#4 Auburn vs #5 Iowa State Predictions
Best Bet: Iowa State +4.5 (-110) Bovada
Read my full analysis below on why the Cyclones are going to get the job done tonight.
CS Northridge vs Denver Predictions
Best Bet: CS Northridge -8 (-110) BetOnline
If you like fast paced basketball, this game is for you. Both CS Northridge and Denver rank in the Top 35 in terms of possessions per game, with the Matadors ranking 12th in the country. As for defense, neither team plays a whole lot of it, and Denver is bad offensively as well.
The Matadors of Northridge are ranked 100 spots higher than the Pioneers, and lack of possessions will not be a worry at all in this game. CSUN has been very efficient on offense, shooting over 50% as a team and ranking Top 50 in eFG%, plus they get to the free throw line a ton, and shoot nearly 40% from deep. Defensively, they clean up the glass very well, and do a good job of forcing turnovers.
The Matadors have covered all 3 games in which they were favored, covering as 3 point faves by 22, and has 4 point and 8.5 point favorites by 10 each. I don’t see them messing with their food tonight, and I love them to win this by double digits.
