After losing to Georgia on the road, Kentucky bounced back in Starkville and knocked off the Bulldogs by 5 as underdogs of that same amount. Now they get the advantage of being back at home in front of their own fans, as they face a very feisty Aggies squad out of College Station.

Wade Taylor and the Aggies just lost to Alabama at home, and now they face another Top 10 opponent in back to back games. That’s just how things are going to be this year in this conference, and Texas A&M has already proven they are able to go into a road environment and win a game, doing so in Norman last Wednesday. Ultimately, this will be a fantastic ball game, but only one can walk away with a win.

Pope and Wildcats Back at Home Tonight

Now, I faded Kentucky on the road at Mississippi State. They had a tendency to come out flat away from home, but that wasn’t the case. They dominated from start to finish and earned a tough road win. Now back at home, where they are the most efficient offense in the nation, 9th in eFG% and 4th in taking care of the basketball, I’ve got to lean with the Wildcats here.

They are 10-0 at home, ranking 23rd in possessions per game, Top 80 in 3P Rate while shooting over 39% from downtown, the Aggies defense is good, but they will have their hands full. Kentucky is not a team that gives up offensive rebounds or lets their opponent get to the line very often, both of which the Aggies thrive at.

Texas A&M does have a Top 25 defense away from their home court, but they are Bottom 12 in 3P Rate defense, allowing opponents to shoot over 35% from beyond the arc. They crash the glass hard on offense, but struggle to shoot the ball well, ranking north of 300 in eFG% away from Reed Arena. Texas A&M already likes to play slow, and I doubt they are able to control the pace tonight. More possessions means much more points for the Wildcats, but the Aggies should struggle to keep up offensively.

We are backing the Wildcats tonight at home. I faded them on the road last game and got killed. This team is legit, they are very talented, and they are finding their groove. At Rupp Arena, they are incredibly comfortable and are coming off a big win against Florida at home. Their fans will bring the energy needed tonight to pull off another tough win.

While the Wildcats’ defense isn’t all that great, they are still Top 100 overall, Top 80 in FT Rate, Top 60 in offensive boards allowed, and 13th in 3P% Defense. Texas A&M depends on free throws, threes, and offensive rebounds to produce points, and with the Wildcats being able to shut all of them down, I see Kentucky pulling off a home win tonight.
