Cincinnati Bearcats vs Navy Midshipmen Betting Preview: Bearcats Should Dominate Overmatched Midshipmen

The Bearcats are doing what they are supposed to do. Last week they roughed up UCF and got some help with Iowa losing to Purdue. They are right where they need to be for their hopes to land in the College Football Playoff.
Navy is not having a good season, so that means that Cincinnati has to beat them up, but nobody likes doing that to the service academies.
Cincinnati is by far the better team, but at the same time playing that triple option can be tricky. The Middies are usually feisty, even in defeat.

Cincinnati is an unenviable spot right now. They are going to be heavily favored in the rest of their games, and they need to win big to stay where they are in the rankings. They are more than capable of doing it, but just winning games is not going to be enough. Quarterback Desmond Ridder leads a capable offense, and the defense is among the best in the nation. They are not considered an explosive team but they are averaging 43 points per game and winning by an average of 30 points per game. They need more wins like last week’s 56-21 win over UCF.
Navy may be just 1-5 SU, but they have covered in three of their last four games so it is clear they are competing. They need to be able to run the ball effectively, and this season they are only 18th in the nation in rushing when they are normally in the top five. When they can’t run the ball they are sunk, and the last time they played the Bearcats they were stomped 42-0. Navy is easy to root for, but they just don’t have it this season.
I like the over in this one because the Bearcats need to score points to help their their playoff chances. They could probably win this game 30-7 but need bigger results to keep the attention of the nation. Look for them to score about 50 points again this week, which means they don’t really need help from Navy to get to the over. Navy keeps the clock moving, but this is just too much of a mismatch.
