Another week, another chance to fade the worst team in college football: Kent State. The Golden Flashes don’t just have the worst defense in the MAC—they’re the worst in the nation. They rank dead last in points allowed, rushing yards, and total yards surrendered per game. Today, we’re focusing on their rush defense, which is a disaster. Kent State gives up over 270 rushing yards per game, and on the road, that number climbs to nearly 290.

Buffalo’s quarterback, CJ Ogbonna, has been outstanding this season. He’s thrown for 2,052 yards, accounted for 22 total touchdowns, and tossed just four interceptions. On the ground, he’s added over 250 rushing yards, averaging 23.6 yards per game. While Ogbonna wasn’t a major rushing threat earlier in the season, he’s turned it up over the last three weeks, averaging 6.4 yards per carry and 53.3 rushing yards per game. And let’s be honest: the defenses he faced in those games weren’t great, but none of them are as bad as Kent State. So why even compare?

The Bulls thrive on the ground, ranking 42nd nationally in rushing attempts per game and averaging over 40 attempts at home. With Ogbonna’s recent rushing efficiency and his ability to eclipse eight carries—something he’s done in seven of 11 games this season—he’s well-positioned to surpass the modest rushing prop of 39.5 yards. Expect the senior QB to take full advantage of this porous Kent State defense.

Prop: Ben Finley Over 198.5 Pass Yards (-114) on BetOnline

Doubling down on quarterbacks for MACtion Tuesday, we’re rolling with Akron’s Ben Finley to go over his passing yards prop, set at 298.5. He’s up against a solid Toledo pass defense, ranked 59th in passing yards allowed per game. While the Rockets generally limit opposing QBs, their numbers spike on the road, allowing over 230 passing yards per game.

Finley has been on fire for the Zips, averaging over 269 passing yards per game across his last five outings. The junior QB has surpassed 200 yards in six of his 11 games this season, with five of those performances coming in conference play. In seven MAC games, he’s averaged 250 yards through the air. Despite facing strong pass defenses like Ohio (37th, 196 yards), Northern Illinois (10th, 205 yards), and Bowling Green (8th, 206 yards), Finley has consistently delivered.

Sure, Toledo has kept most QBs under 200 yards this season, but they have little to play for at this point. Akron, on the other hand, is hosting senior night, a game that carries extra emotional weight. Expect the Zips to come out fired up and ready to perform.

Akron has leaned heavily on the passing game all season, ranking 30th in pass attempts nationally. At home, they average around 33 pass attempts per game, while their ground game ranks 8th lowest in rush attempts, averaging just 22 per game at home. The Zips are committed to airing it out, so look for Finley to sling it all night long against Toledo.
