See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Dallas Cowboys host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 of the NFL regular season. Both teams are coming off of disappointing losses, and the need for a win is bigger than ever.
The Bengals faced the Steelers in Week 1, but were upset as 6.5 point favorites and lost in overtime. Joe Burrow threw 4 interceptions in the game, and the offensive line did not look like a much-improved unit from last season.
The Cowboys were completely stifled on offense, becoming the only team in the league without a touchdown in Week 1. Dak Prescott also left the game with broken bones in his hand, and he will miss anywhere from 4-8 weeks during recovery.
The Cowboys were 2 point favorites in this game prior to the Prescott injury. Now, they are 7.5 point underdogs with the defending AFC Champions coming to town. Cincinnati is a heavy favorite in the moneyline as well, and value will need to be found elsewhere.

Can Cooper Rush Be as Effective as Dak?
Dak Prescott only went 14-for-29 passing with 134 yards and an interception in Week 1. The injury he sustained does not spell success for the Cowboys. Cooper Rush came in to finish the game and went 7-for-13 with 64 yards passing.
Rush has only made one career start, despite being with the team since 2017. He did win that one start, but he will be going up against a Bengals defense that, without the turnovers on offense last week, fared fairly well against Pittsburgh.
Rush has 11 career appearances in NFL regular season games, so he isn’t going in completely blind. However, with a struggling offense that showed its colors last weekend, he has his work cut out for him.
He failed to make any offense happen in the second half against the Bucs. As they now face another title contender and Joe Burrow, offense is a must to stay in the game early.
The Cowboys will shift most of their focus to defensive plays, as they will have to force Burrow into more mistakes in Week 2. Burrow had 5 turnovers last week, so the Cowboys have some hope.
However, with the threat of big plays looming from the Cincinnati sideline, the Cowboys will have to try and counter with the running game and Ezekiel Elliott. Unfortunately, Cincy was one of the best against the run in Week 1, so that will be another challenge to overcome.
Bengals vs. Cowboys Betting Trends
- Last year, in 8 away games, Cincinnati went over the total twice
- Cincinnati was winless ATS as 7.5-point favorites or more away from home last season
- The Cowboys covered the spread 13 times in 17 games last year
- Dallas hit the over in 5 of 8 games at home last year
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction and Picks
Bengals vs. Cowboys Prediction: Bengals 24, Cowboys 10
Bengals vs. Cowboys Picks: Bengals -7.5 (-108 at BetOnline) and Under 42.5 total points (-110 at BetOnline)
I see Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase doing a lot of damage this weekend. I feel like Joe Burrow just needed to get a game under his belt this season to fully engage and produce at the NFL level.
The team played as bad as they possibly could have last week against the Steelers, but they were just a couple missed kicks away from a win and a 1-0 start.
Bengals fans should not panic, as this happens when starters get no time in the pre-season. Sloppy play will be cleaned up, and the Bengals will find their groove again.
