The Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills are set to kick off the 2024 season with high hopes. Arizona remains in rebuild mode, while Buffalo aims to reach the Super Bowl under quarterback Josh Allen. However, several key offseason losses might make the Bills start the season a bit sluggish.
Let’s dive into this matchup.

Cardinals vs Bills Predictions
The Stank:
As a firm nonbeliever of the 2024 Buffalo Bills, I find this spread to be extraordinarily high. The team has lost key receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, and while James Cook remains in the backfield, the primary receiving target is likely to be tight end Dalton Kincaid. Though Kincaid is a promising talent, he’s not a number one option. The Bills also drafted second-round pick Keon Coleman, a former Florida State standout who has generated offseason buzz, but he’s still considered raw and hasn’t developed significantly during training camp. This depletion of weapons raises concerns.
In contrast, the Cardinals have bolstered their offense with generational talent Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State. This addition, combined with running back James Conner’s 1,000-yard season and third-year tight end Trey McBride’s career-high numbers, should provide a significant boost. Kyler Murray, a six-year veteran, can effectively lead the offense both through the air and on the ground.
On the defensive side, Arizona is ranked among the worst defenses in football, while Buffalo is expected to be mid-tier. With defensive-minded head coach Sean McDermott, the Bills should be solid defensively, but they’ve lost key players like Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Leonard Floyd, and Tyrel Dodson, leaving significant gaps. Expect the new defensive unit to be somewhat sluggish, allowing the Cardinals’ offense to keep the game close.
Prediction: Bills win
