Commanders vs Eagles NFC Championship Game Predictions & Picks (1/26)
One of these two NFC East franchises will be representing their conference at Super Bowl LIX in a few short weeks.
The Commanders have reached the NFC Championship Game for the first time since the 1991 campaign. After edging out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wild Card Weekend, Dan Quinn’s team notched an upset 45-31 win against the Detroit Lions in the Division Round. The victory was Commanders’ seventh in a row; a stretch that saw them average 31.3 PPG with a plus-7.7 average scoring margin.
Meanwhile, the Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers before eliminating the L.A. Rams with a 28-22 win last weekend. Philadelphia has only lost one game since Week 6, cementing itself as the Super Bowl favorite (+185 on BetOnline).
Interestingly enough, though, the sole defeat during that span came as a 36-33 loss to the Commanders in Week 16. The Eagles were forced to play the majority of that game without starting QB Jalen Hurts, who’s currently dealing with a knee injury.
Will Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (knee) be healthy enough to play in the NFC Championship Game?
Having said that, it was the Eagles who emerged with a 26-18 win over the Commanders when they collided in Philly in Week 11. In fact, the Eagles are 6-2 SU in their last eight times hosting the Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.
But even though the odds aren’t in the Commanders’ favor, that might not matter much. They own the fourth-best win percentage as underdogs this season (62.5%, 5-3 SU). The Eagles are 13-3 SU as favorites, however, their 81.3% success rate in that regard is only the 10th-best.
Besides, Washington already proved last week that the oddsmakers might not have things figured out after all…
Do the Commanders have what it takes to pull off yet another upset?
As fun as the Commanders have been to watch, though, I predict an Eagles NFC Championship victory.
The Eagles have looked like they’ve been destined to play in the Super Bowl for months now. Hurts’ knee situation is improving and if he can get close to full health, the Commanders will struggle to contain the home team’s unpredictable attack. Washington will put up a fight but this game is Philadelphia’s to lose.
I’m also backing the Over on the 47.5-point total. The Over is 4-1 in the last five Commanders vs. Eagles matchups, which averaged 60.0 PPG. Considering how these NFC East rivals combined for 69 points in their most recent collision, I expect some fireworks in the City of Brotherly Love.

Best Commanders vs Eagles NFC Championship Player Prop Bet
In his team’s biggest game of the season, I’m taking a Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown (-125 on Bovada) as the best Commanders vs. Eagles player prop bet.
Hurts was a touchdown merchant throughout the regular season, racking up 14 scores on 150 carries across 15 games. The two-time Pro Bowl QB also hit pay dirt against the Rams, finding the end zone at the tail end of a 44-yard run.
Next up is the Commanders, who allowed three rushing TDs to the Lions last weekend. That’s good news for Hurts after scoring six touchdowns in five career home games vs. Washington. If he can play, he’ll score.
Best Commanders vs. Eagles Player Prop: Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown (-125)
