Week 3 baby, are you excited? We’re not far from Kickoff for Week 3, but with so many great matchups; I thought what better game to break down than the Falcons and Lions.
Two teams with different expectations, but stacked with great, young talent.
You’ve got guys like Bijan Robinson, and Jhamyr Ghibbs in the backfield; in addition to studs like Amon-ra and Drake London on the outside. Talent all over the field in this matchup.
Can the Lions respond after a tough OT loss to the Seahawks, or will Bijan Robinson and the Falcons stay undefeated? Let’s jump into it.

Falcons vs. Lions Breakdown & Best Bets
Blue Ski Masks, that was the story of the Lions home opener. The hype was there, the fans were out in full force, and all eyes were on the Lions to win and win big.
After the overtime dust settled, it was the Seahawks left wearing the Blue Ski Masks.
Falcons on the other side, are looking to go 3-0, after a 13 point come back against the Packers. Desmond Ridder threw for 237 yards and a touchdown, in addition to running one in himself.
Falcons vs. Lions Best Bets
Bijan Robinson o95.5 Rush + Rec Yards (-115) via Bovada
Bijan Robinson has arrived. Now obviously, this isn’t a surprise to anyone; but in Week 2 we got a glimpse into how electric Robinson really is.
He carried the ball 19 times for 124 yards and reeled in 4 catches (5 targets) for another 48 yards from scrimmage.
In their season opener, we saw the Falcons split RB snaps almost 50/50; Bijan seeing 33 snaps to Allgier’s 29. But against the Packers we saw that gap increase significantly.
Bijan out snapped Allgier 59 to 36, with Allgier still seeing 16 carries to Bijan’s 19. This Falcons team is a team that runs early, often, and in almost all situations.
Excluding Quarterback runs, the Falcons ran the ball on 59% of offensive plays in Week 1, and 53% of offensive plays in Week 2. They were the most run heavy team in 2022/23 and now with Bijan in the backfield, don’t expect it to change.
He saw just 10 carries against the panthers in Week 1, but still recorded 56 rushing yards (5.6 YPC) and 6 catches for 27 yards. In Week 2 he upped that yards/carry number to 6.5 and touched the ball 23 times, both through the air and on the ground.
In the opener against the Panthers, the Falcons were slowly working Bijan into an NFL offense and workload, but after this Week 2 performance, expect all training wheels to come off.
Bijan Robinson o95.5 Rush + Rec Yards (-115) via Bovada
Amon-Ra St. Brown o72.5 Yards (-110) via Bovada
Can’t get enough Amon-ra. He left last week’s game twice, once with a toe issue and then once with cramps, but all signs point to him being good to go on Sunday.
The loss against the Seahawks was a tough pill to swallow for this Lions team; it’s always tough when you don’t even touch the ball in overtime.
Amon-ra played 74% of snaps in Week 2 due to his injuries, and still came away with 6 catches on 7 targets for 102 receiving yards. He’s been a top five wide receiver and clearly Goff’s favorite target.
The home splits, St. Brown last season: 83.8 yards/game, 7.3 rec/game, scored 6 TDs, all on 10 targets/game. All six of his touchdowns came at Ford Field.
Let’s see if Amon-ra can do it one more time for the gang.

Ps. I do have Lions as my pick this week in my Survivor Pool.
