The Seattle Seahawks are the next team that gets a crack at trying to slow down the Los Angeles Rams high powered offense. The Rams are the best offensive team in the league which is a big reason why they are coming into this game 4-0. The Seahawks have struggled this year and they are 2-2 though the first four games of the year.
The Rams have been playing some very good football and it’s tough to see anyone that can stop them in the league right now. The Seahawks have as good of a chance as any to stop them as they face off at 4:25PM in Seattle. This is going to be a brawl and the Rams are favored on the road by 7.5 points.
Los Angeles on Fire
The Rams are gaining yards are a torrid pace. Through their first four games, they have gained 476.8 yards a game, which is easily tops in the NFL. They get 351.5 of those yards through the air and the remaining 125.3 on the ground. They are scoring 35 points a game and have scored between 33 and 38 points in every game. They have scored more points than the last in every game this season.
They are balanced with distributing the ball. Jared Goff has thrown for 1,406 yards and 11 touchdowns this year against only two interceptions. Todd Gurley has run the ball for 338 yards and four touchdowns. The defense for the Rams is really good as well. They only allow 16.8 points a game and just 346.3 yards on defense. With this combination of offense and sturdy defense, the Rams are not going to find someone that can beat them easily.
The Rams are going to have to beat themselves but so far that hasn’t happened. The offense and defense are clicking on all cylinders and opposing teams are going to be in a world of hurt if either of these two don’t get in a little dry spell.
Seahawks Banged Up
The Seahawks lost their best secondary player last week in Earl Thomas as he went down with a fractured tibia. Thomas has since been placed on the IR and will not return this season. What was once thought to be an offensive power, has turned into quite the opposite. The Seahawks only score 21.3 points a game and they give up 20.3 a game. If both of these totals do not get better then the fans are doing to voice their displeasure.
Russell Wilson has struggled throwing the ball this year so far. Wilson has thrown for seven touchdown passes but has also thrown three interceptions. This is going to be a good test to see how the Seahawks step up this week. They will have to get better on both sides of the ball before they are able to win this game. If we know anything about the Seahawks though it’s that they find ways to win.
Rams Win on the Road
The Rams should be clear favorites in this one. On ESPN, the football power index says that the Rams have a 65.3 percent chance of winning the game. With their offense that is very possible, but you also have to look at who they are playing.
The Seahawks are a tough team to face on their home turf and will most always make it a close game. In this one though, I expect the Rams to start off really well and score quickly forcing the Seahawks to show their hand. If they can’t match the first touchdown then it is going to end up being a very long week. Take the Rams -7.5.
