See Picks & Statistics For The GameMonday Night Football is at Arrowhead tonight, as the Kansas City Chiefs and NFL referees take on the New Orleans Saints. It seems a little lopsided on paper, but hey, we’ve got to help the best player to ever play the game by making sure the zebras are on his side in every single contest. The NFL script writers have their hands full once again.
The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 to start the season, but none of their wins have been dominating. After winning two games at home by a combined 8 points, Kansas City picked up two road wins the past two weeks, each by a single possession. Rashee Rice went down with some sort of knee injury and ended up on the IR. The Chiefs are now without Isaiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, and Rice, so the offense will need the Mahomes/Kelce duo to show out, and rookie Xavier Worthy to step up. Can they win again and tie the Vikings for a 5-0 start in the NFL?
The Saints come into this matchup after dropping their last two. New Orleans looked electric in the first two weeks of the season. They beat the Panthers and Cowboys in Dallas, scoring 40+ points in both contests and allowing a combined 29. However, things took a turn the past two weekends. The Saints lost at home to the Eagles in a low scoring thriller, 15-12, scoring just 1 TD after putting up 11 in their first two games. Last week, New Orleans lost an NFC South divisional bout, losing to Kirk Cousins and the Falcons, 26-24.
Will the Saints put up a fight against the Chiefs in Kansas City? Or can the Chiefs send them back the the Bayou with a loss?

Saints Face Chiefs in Arrowhead on MNF
The Chiefs face a familiar foe tonight in Derek Carr. They’ve seen this QB 17 times throughout his career, and they’ve had their fair share of dominating wins. First and foremost, Carr has a career record of 3-14 against Kansas City. You read that correctly.
He cannot figure out how to beat the Chiefs. Now, all of these games were against the Raiders, so he hasn’t necessarily faced the Chiefs with dangerous weapons, however, can he turn the Saints’ ship around and compete tonight on the road? New Orleans looked like all of their problems were solved after two weeks of play, thanks to their new OC, Klint Kubiak. They scored over 90 points in their first two games, but have put up just 18 per game the past two weeks in their losses. Plus they face a tough team tonight in Kansas City.
As much as we talk about the Chiefs offense, their defense has severely stepped up this year and ultimately won then some games. They rank 8th in points allowed per game, 12th in Opponent 3rd down conversion percentage, and 7th in Opponent RZ Scoring Percentage. The defensive unit is holding teams to under three touchdowns per game, and you know you’ll need to score to beat the Chiefs. However, how can they do without their leading pass catcher?
Banged Up Chiefs Offense
The Kansas City Offense is currently missing the following skill players since the start of training camp.
- RB1: Isaiah Pacheco
- RB2: Clyde Edwards-Helaire
- WR1: Hollywood Brown
- WR2: Rashee Rice
But like I said, the defense has carried this team. Plus it always helps having Mahomes under center. While we know the Chiefs don’t necessarily cover spreads, even though they are 3-1 ATS this year, they certainly win games. There is no doubt in my mind that the Chiefs win this game, but I want no part of the 5.5.
New Orleans Saints vs Kansas City Chiefs Best Bets
Saints vs Chiefs Prediction: Chiefs Win, Saints Cover, Under 43
Best Bet: Derek Carr Over 0.5 Interceptions (-127) BetOnline
I have no problem paying the juice on this pick, because Carr is a turnover machine. The Chiefs Defense only has one interception this season, but they are allowing just 3.8 yards per rush, which is 4th in the league. I don’t see the Saints having much success running the football tonight, so I expect Carr to air it out in order to keep up offensively.
Carr has played 17 games against the Chiefs, and he has 17 total interceptions against them in his career. He’s thrown picks in 11/17 games (64.7%) against the Chiefs, including 9 total picks in 9 games at Arrowhead. He’s thrown picks in 67% of his starts in Kansas City, and has been trending down so far this season. Carr has thrown a pick in three straight games this season, including on just 16 pass attempts against the Cowboys.
Carr is also known for multi-interceptions games, which he’s done 5 times against the Chiefs, including 3 times at Arrowhead. I see the defense being a big part of the game for the Chiefs today, and I think that starts with a Kansas City interception.
