Ravens @ Buccaneers Analysis & Breakdown
It’s Week 7 and we’re coming up on the halfway point of the season; it’s time to lock in and leave it all out there on the field.
Let’s talk numbers. Mayfield’s been on a different planet this year, he’s averaging 248.2 passing yards per game and he leads the league in touchdown passes (15). He’s got Tampa off to a 4-2 start as they enter Week 7 leading the NFC South.
Lamar and the Ravens started the season off a little rusty, but have now won 4 straight games, all against GOOD opponents. Over the last 4 weeks, the Ravens have bested the Commanders, the Bengals, the Bills and the Cowboys.
In those 4 games, Lamar was averaging 252.3 passing yards per game, 59 rush yards per game, he’s thrown 8 touchdowns, just 1 interception and ran in for 2 more scores. To say the Ravens have been hot would be an understatement.
Friendship
You know we love narratives around here at Betting News so let’s talk about my favorite narrative in this Ravens and Buccaneers matchup; the friendship of Mark Andrews and Baker Mayfield.
Now I didn’t know they played together at Oklahoma, nor did I know that Mark was actually one of the groomsmen in Baker’s wedding. Mayfield was talking to the media this week and let everyone know how Mark’s one of his best friends, but how Mark doesn’t speak to him during the actual season.
From September to about January/February; Andrews just refuses to talk to Mayfield. It’s so intense that I’m kind of in love with it. Baker spoke about how it makes him sad but I’m sorry, Mark’s just LOCKED IN.
Two potent offenses, with middle tier defenses and FRIENDSHIP; what more do you need on a Monday night.
Mark Andrews o2.5 Receptions (-106) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
We’re buying into the narrative. Mark Andrews hasn’t played against Baker Mayfield since 2021. Both of these guys played together at Oklahoma, they were drafted in the same year and drafted to the exact same division.
These guys were playing each other twice a year for the entirety of their first 4 seasons in the league. Outside of the first season where Andrews wasn’t the starter, he’s scored in 5 of their 6 matchups, even scoring 2 touchdowns in two different games.
He’s averaging 73.3 receving yards per game and 8.3 receptions per game in these matchups. Now all of these matchups came in 2021 or before that, and they all came against the Browns; but we’re still buying stake on Mark Andrews today.
Over their L2 games, the Buccaneers have allowed 7 catches to both Dallas Goedert and Kyle Pitts, allowing both tight ends to finish with 60+ yards but no touchdowns. Andrews’ has seen 9 targets over his L2 games and finally got into the endzone for his first score last week.
We’re rocking with the receptions line in this one but I’m obviously playing the touchdown too.

Baker Mayfield o1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-124) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
Mayfield’s thrown 15 passing touchdowns on the year and just 5 interceptions. He currently leads the league in that category and that’s with everyone having played in Week 7. This week he gets a Baltimore defense that ranks last in pass yards allowed and is giving up 24.8 points per game.
The Ravens have given up 11 passing touchdowns on the year, and it’s their defense that’s held them back this year. Mayfields throwing almost 32 passes per game and he’s connected on 71% of those passes. With receivers like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, look for Baker to come out and make a statement tonight.
