Ravens @ Steelers Analysis & Breakdown
The Russell Wilson Redemption Tour
It’s 2024 and Russell Wilson is still doing his damn thing. Through 3 starts this year, Wilson is averaging 245.7 passing yards per game, he’s thrown 6 touchdowns and just 1 interception.
Everyone, myself included, questioned HC Mike Tomlin’s decision to remove Fields’ as the starter and bring in Russ; since then the Steelers have gone 3-0, averaging 30 points per game and once again, everyone learned not to question Mike Tomlin.
The Steelers went 4-2 with Justin Fields over the first six weeks of the season, averaged 20.7 points per game and scored 11 offensive touchdowns. Over the last 3 weeks, with DangeRuss; they’ve averaged 30 points per game, scoring 10 offensive touchdowns in half as many games.
Let Russ Cook.
Lamar Jackson, 3-time MVP?
It’s no surprise, but once again it looks like Lamar Jackson may take home the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award.
Last year, in 16 games; Lamar averaged 229 passing yards per game, he threw 24 touchdowns, just 7 interceptions and the Ravens won 13 of his 16 starts. That was enough for Lamar’s 2nd MVP Award.
This year, through just 10 games; Lamar’s averaging 266 passing yards per game, he’s already thrown 24 touchdowns and he’s somehow limited himself to just 2 interceptions.
The Ravens are 7-3 and have a chance at taking over as the division leader with a win this week. It’s Week 11 and the Ravens still have their bye week coming up; so with just 7 games left, Lamar and the Ravens will be more focused than ever.
Geroge Pickens Anytime Touchdown (+125)
The revival of Russell Wilson has been great for the Steelers, but it’s been revitalizing for their young receiver, George Pickens.
Through the first 2.5 seasons of Pickens’ career, he’s started all 45 games he’s been eligible to play, he’s played with 5 different starting quarterbacks; including two different starters this year.
In his first 42 games, Pickens recorded 9 touchdowns, from 3 different quarter backs. This season, through the first 6 games, Pickens recorded 26 catches for 363 yards and no touchdowns.
Just 3 games with Russell Wilson, Pickens has 14 catches for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Wilson has targeted the young receiver 5 times in the red zone and 21 times total over the last 3 weeks. They have a connection and it’s something Pickens has desperately been searching for.
Bad blood makes for big performances…
Pickens has played the Ravens 4 times in his short career, eclipsing 3 catches just once in a game last year with Kenny Pickett under center. He recorded 6 catches for 130 yards and a touchdown, he was targeted 10 times and accounted for more than half of Pickett’s total passing yards.
In their 2nd meeting last year, it was Mason Rudolph under center. Rudolph threw for just 152 yards and failed to target Pickens a single time during the game.
Pickens’ has thrived against the AFC North in his career, despite subpar quarterback play. Excluding this year, Pickens has 9 total career touchdowns, 6 of those have come against divisional opponents. This will be his first game against the AFC North this season.

Mark Andrews Anytime Touchdown (+210)
The Steelers defense has been top-2 in the NFL all year long. They’ve given up just 1 passing touchdown over their last 3 games and have now gone back to back weeks without allowing a touchdown threw the air.
On the road, in a sea of Black and Yellow; it can be a tough place to play for opposing quarterbacks. Lamar’s been victim to this exact defense before.
In 4 career starts against the Steelers, Lamar’s averaging just over 200 yards per game and he’s thrown 4 touchdowns but 7 interceptions. Of the 4 games, 3 of them have come in Pittsburgh; Lamar recorded just 2 touchdowns but 6 interceptions in these 3 games.
Marky Mark
Mark Andrews has played the Steelers 9 times in his career, he averages 4.7 receptions per game, 51 yards per game and he’s yet to score a single touchdown against them. That changes this week.
Lamar leads (tied) the league in touchdown passes with 24 touchdown passes, with 5 of those touchdowns being thrown to Mark Andrews over the last 5 weeks.
With so much on the line in today’s matchup, look for the Baltimore veterans to step up in this divisional clash. In 3 divisional games this year, Andrews has caught 15 of 17 targets for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Andrews started the season very quietly, but has come alive over the last six weeks. Even with Likely back on the field this week, 5 of the last 6 games had both tight ends actively sharing snaps.
Mark’s back on top and it’s time he got his first touchdown against the Steelers.
