Golden Knights vs Stars NHL Predictions & Picks (1/24)
Although these clubs are among the NHL’s best, both sides are in dire need of some positivity tonight.
The Golden Knights have been trending in the wrong direction lately, losing six of their last eight outings. They did just notch a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues less than 24 hours ago, however, they haven’t won consecutive games in nearly three weeks. Vegas also lost four straight outings before Thursday’s win, leaving time to tell if that performance was a fluke or not.
As for the Stars, they own an uninspiring 2-4 SU record in their last six games. Their last performance saw them fall 2-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday as Peter DeBoer’s team surrendered the game-deciding goal just 24 seconds after Thomas Harley tied the game.
The Stars are back at American Airlines Center again, where they’ve lost two of their last three home games, scoring one goal in each loss. Nevertheless, Dallas has the perfect opportunity to prevent things from worsening. Vegas is currently 1-3 SU in its last four away contests, having been outscored 15-12 on aggregate along the way.
Can the Stars take advantage of the Golden Knights’ recent road issues?
After Ilya Samsonov started against the Blues, look for Adin Hill to patrol the Golden Knights’ crease tonight. On one hand, the veteran netminder has played to a 2.59 goals-against average in his last seven starts. On the flip side, he owns a mediocre .890 save percentage during that stretch as well.
The Stars, meanwhile, will likely role with Jake Oettinger for the 36th time this season. The former 2017 first-rounder has been consistent throughout the campaign, which includes his latest stretch at home that’s seen him play to a 1.81 GAA and .927 SV% in his last five starts in the Lone Star State.
The Verdict
After doing some analyzing, let’s take the Stars to win tonight.
The Golden Knights are better than their recent record indicates, but that doesn’t matter. They’re going to be tired from last night’s performance and a well-rested Stars club will take advantage of that fact. Throw in the fact that road success has eluded Vegas as of late and I’m even more confident that Dallas has what it takes to win at home.
Also, back the Under on the 5.5-goal total. The Under is 6-1 in the last seven clashes between these teams, as well as 12-3 in their 15 previous meetings at American Airlines Center. That’s without mentioning how Hill and Oettinger haven’t been allowing a ton of goals lately. Simply put, don’t expect a barn burner.

Best Golden Knights vs Stars NHL Player Prop Bet (1/24)
With the way he’s been performing, going with a Jason Robertson anytime goal (+175 on Bovada) for the best Golden Knights vs. Stars player prop bet.
After scoring only seven times in his first 34 games this season, Robertson has turned things around with eight goals in his last 13 outings. Four of those goals came in the former NHL All-Star’s four most recent games, giving him plenty of momentum heading into tonight’s matchup.
With the Golden Knights allowing an average of 3.8 goals in their last four road games, Robertson should see plenty of opportunities to score again.
Best Golden Knights vs. Stars Player Prop Bet: Jason Robertson Anytime Goalscorer (+175)
