NHL Best Bets 10/17

We have a MASSIVE slate tonight, which can be hard to figure out exactly which NHL player props to choose from. 1. Anton Lundell Point +100 on BetOnline:

The Florida Panthers have been without top center Aleksander Barkov and top forward Matthew Tkachuk. And they continue to roll. Tonight they will host the Vancouver Canucks who have been struggling without top goaltender Thatcher Demko in net due to injury.

One of the big reasons the Panthers have been able to continue to roll is due to players stepping up. Both Sam Bennett and Anton Lundell are taking on larger roles, especially Lundell. Centering a line of Sam Reinhart and Eetu Luostarinen, Lundell is getting an opportunity to play big minutes with some big offensive skill linemates. He has 4 points in his last two games.

But why this NHL player prop is a best bet is due to the fact Lundell is playing with Reinhart. The Vancouver native LOVES playing against the Canucks and has a point against them in 5 of his last 6 games and 8 points in those games. If Reinhart continues to dominate I like Lundell’s chances of getting a point. And at even money, this becomes an NHL best bet.

2. Kent Johnson Point for +105 on BetOnline:

Kent Johnson is becoming a force for the Columbus Blue Jackets. The ultra-skilled winger is off to the best start of his career with 4 points in 3 games. Tonight he gets a Buffalo Sabres team who are coming off a overtime loss to Pittsburgh last night.

The Blue Jackets have been playing solid hockey. They are playing with guts and playing for their teammate Johnny Gaudreau who sadly passed this offseason. Johnson has found great chemistry with fellow 2021 1st round draft pick Cole Sillinger on the second line. He also plays the point on the top power play unit.

While he has only hit against Buffalo in 2 of the last 6 games against them, he does have three points in those games. He now has an increased role on the team and is capitalizing on it. Buffalo should be tired and are starting their young backup Levi in net.

At plus money there is a lot of value on Kent Johnson to continue rolling making him an NHL best bet.

3. Matevi Michkov Points -105 on BetOnline:

The Flyers took the plunge in drafting the 2nd most talented player of the 2023 NHL draft, Matevi Michkov. Many scouts said Michkov could be just as, if not more talented than Connor Bedard, but their were concerns about his KHL contract.

Michkov took committed to being a Flyer and came over to the NHL and now all eyes are on him. He has three point in his first three NHL games, including two goals against the Edmonton Oilers. Tonight he will faceoff against the Seattle Kraken who are returning from a roadtrip.

The Kraken are coming off a big win against the Nashville Predators, and may come out sleepy against the fresh footed Flyers. The Kraken have allowed 15 goals in their first four games. But more importantly, Michkov plays on a line with top forward Travis Konecny who DOMINATES the Kraken. In his 6 career games against Seattle Konecny has 7 points.

Being on the top power play unit and line with Konecny should help Michkov get on the scoresheet tonight. Take Michkov point props before they become unbetable! The value here makes it an NHL best bet.
