See Picks & Statistics For The GameWe have a full slate today, so we have the breakdowns for you. Let’s start with the best team in the league, the Winnipeg Jets taking on the Detroit Red Wings. This is the 2nd time they play this season and the Jets won the 1st game 6-2.
Detroit is off a rough start this year with a 16-18-4 record. They are currently 7th in the Atlantic Division and have a road record of 7-8-2. This team comes into this game on a 3-game winning streak but are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games.
The team is short on offense this season, ranking in the bottom of the league for goals scored and dead last for shots on goal per game. On a bright side, they have the 5th best power play in the league, converting 25.2% of the time.
The Wings struggle on defense. They rank in the bottom of the league for goals allowed (3.26) and shots on goal allowed (29.6) per game. Their penalty kill is horrendous, ranking 2nd worst in the league.
Goalie Alex Lyon is expected in net tonight. He has a 7-5-0 record with a 2.83 GAA and a .899 save percentage. He will have his work cut out for him tonight vs this Jets offense.
Jets look to end 2-game skid vs the Red Wings tonight
This team has come out of nowhere and is leading the league in points. The Jets are 27-11-2 and are 1st in the Central Division. Winnipeg comes into this game on a 2-game losing streak they’ll be looking to snap.
At home this season, they are 14-3-2 and are also 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. To no one’s surprise, the Jets offense is electric, ranking 2nd in goals scored per game. It is interesting that they only put up the 17th most shots on goal per game but make them count with the 3rd best shooting percentage.
Defensively this team is more than sound. They rank 1st in the league for goals allowed, which is attributed to their star goaltender and current Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck. He does face almost 30 shots a game, but he has been lights out this season.
Hellebuyck is expected in net tonight. He has a 24-5-2 record this season with a 2.06 GAA and a .927 save percentage. He also has 5 shutouts under his belt this season. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

Obviously, it’s hard to pick against the Jets, but this is a perfect get right spot for them. They need to kick the 2-game skid and what better way to do so than in front of them home crowd.
The Jets showed early in the season that they can take care of business vs the Wings. I expect to see the same tonight in Winnipeg. They’ll look to rattle Lyon early and get on the board 1st. Once they do that, they’ll be no looking back.
Kyle Connor should be firing tonight, and I like his 4+ shots on goal for +120. He has hit his mark in his last 2 game vs the Wings, including 5 in the game earlier this season. I’ll also be sprinkling his anytime goal for +115 as he has scored in his last 3 games vs Detroit.
I also definitely lean the over in this game, even with the total at 5.5. Winnipeg scored 6 goals last game and I expect them so to the same. As long as Detroit can net 1 or 2, this game is going over.
