Panthers vs Rangers NHL Predictions & Picks (10/24)
Tonight marks the first Panthers-Rangers tilt since they collided during the 2023-24 Eastern Conference Finals. It was an intense series that saw Florida eliminate New York in just six games before going on to win the Stanley Cup.
Needless to say, the Rangers will want some revenge tonight and the good news for them is that momentum is on their side. Peter Laviolette’s team is heading into this evening’s clash on a four-game win streak, most recently notching a 7-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. The Rangers’ offense has played a big role in their recent success as they’ve outscored their last four opponents 20-6 on aggregate.
As for the Panthers, they’ve played to mixed results thus far and have dropped two of their last three games. Their latest defeat came in the form of a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild two nights ago, leaving time to tell if the defending champions can reverse course.
Stopping goals has been an issue for the Panthers, who allow 3.63 goals per game — eighth-most in the NHL. On the flip side, the Rangers are only giving up an average of 2.00 goals (No. 4).
The Rangers’ goaltending has been much better than the Panthers to begin the 2024-25 NHL season.
The Rangers also have the clear-cut offensive advantage in this game as they’re averaging an NHL-leading 5.17 goals per game. The Panthers, meanwhile, are putting up 3.00 G/PG (T-19th). That’s without even mentioning how New York’s power play (31.6%, 5th) has the advantage over Florida (19.1%, T-18th), too.
It’s going to be up to Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky to slow down the Rangers’ offense. The former Vezina Trophy winner has looked rather pedestrian this season, going 3-2-1 with a .875 save percentage and 3.47 goals-against average in his first six starts. He did play to a .921 SV% against New York in the Eastern Conference Finals, though, leaving time to tell if he can replicate those results.
Meanwhile, Rangers G Igor Shesterkin looks like he’s gearing up for his second Vezina run. Through five appearances, the 28-year-old puck-stopper has tallied a .932 SV%, 1.98 GAA, and one shutout victory.
If that isn’t impressive enough, Shesterkin has only given up four goals on 90 shots in his last three games.
Does Panthers G Sergei Bobrovsky have what it takes to outperform Rangers G Igor Shesterkin tonight?
In what should be a highly anticipated rematch from this spring, I’m going with the Rangers over the Panthers. New York has seemingly learned from its postseason exit and has yet to lose in regulation this season. While Florida is still good, it’s clear that it still has issues with its goaltending and special teams. If the Rangers can capitalize on those struggles, picking up another home victory won’t be difficult.
With that in mind, sit back and take the Rangers on the moneyline.

Best Panthers vs Rangers NHL Player Prop (10/24)
Sticking with shots on goal props has worked for us lately. That’s why I’m taking Adam Fox o1.5 SOG (-134) for tonight’s best Panthers vs. Rangers prop.
Fox is off to a fantastic start to the 2024-25 campaign, registering seven assists in his first six games. Although he has generated a ton of shots this season, he did finish with a pair of SOG against the Canadiens earlier this week. The former Norris Trophy winner now has a juicy matchup against the Panthers, who are allowing the second-most SOG per game to defensemen this season.
What’s encouraging is that Fox has tallied 18 SOG in his last eight games vs. the Panthers, averaging 2.3 SOG per outing while finishing with the Over five times. It’s safe to say that he has a terrific shot at hitting the Over again this evening.
Best Panthers vs. Rangers Player Prop: Adam Fox o1.5 Shots on Goal (-134)
