See Picks & Statistics For The GameAfter an exciting return from the Olympic break, the Mercury dominated the Chicago Sky with a 20-point victory Thursday night. Now, they must quickly pack up and head to Indianapolis to face a team that has had nearly a month off, while most of the Phoenix squad was competing in France for Team USA.

Mercury vs Fever Predictions
The Stank:
Let’s break it down: Phoenix had three of their five starters playing for Team USA, who just won gold. On top of that, they lost forward Rebecca Allen, who was playing for Australia, to injury just as the Olympics were starting. So, after celebrating their gold medal win, these Team USA players had to travel back, beat Chicago by 20 points on the road, and then immediately head to Indiana for another game the next day. They’re bound to be exhausted, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are minute restrictions on some of their starters, especially with another game against Chicago on Sunday night in Phoenix.

Meanwhile, the Fever had all of their key players stay home during the break. They’ve had time to get in extra reps, build chemistry, and should be well-prepared for tonight’s game. One important factor is that Caitlin Clark finally got some much-needed rest for the first time in what feels like over a year, after a nonstop run from her final year at Iowa.
Clark and Aliyah Boston were on a different level before the break, and with that extra time to train together, their second half of the season could be something special.
Indiana at (-3) looks like a good spot, but I’d wait, as the number has been fluctuating all morning. Many might be tempted to back the Mercury after their big win over Chicago.
Here’s a juicy nugget: The Mercury are 2-9 against the spread on Fridays this season. Let’s hope that trend continues.
Prediction: Fever win & Cover
Pick: Fever (-3.0) (-110)
Prop Sprinkle: Caitlion Clark Triple Double (+700)
