Both sides are coming off winning performances ahead of tonight’s battle. The Bucks just notched a massive 141-117 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday while the Nuggets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 111-105, that same night.
It won’t be much of a surprise if these teams are the last left standing in June. BetOnline’s futures markets give Denver the second-best odds (+425) to win the 2023-24 NBA Finals while Milwaukee isn’t much further back in third (+525).
Tonight’s championship-quality tilt is also riddled with betting opportunities, so let’s figure out the best bets as we dive into my Bucks vs. Nuggets betting preview.

Bucks vs Nuggets Prediction & Picks (1/29): Giannis vs. Jokic Takes Center Stage
Any time that the Bucks and Nuggets clash, a good chunk of fans are focused on the impending collision between two of the game’s best bigs: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic.
The two MVP-caliber players have collided 13 times throughout their careers, resulting in nine victories for Jokic’s Nuggets. The frontcourt superstars last met last March during a 129-106 win for Denver as Jokic finished the game with 31 points, six rebounds, and 11 assists while Antetokounmpo also recorded 31 points while adding nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Both players lived up to their potential in that clash, leaving time to tell if the same can be said tonight.
Fortunately, both players have, once again, been among the NBA’s best throughout the season. Jokic is averaging 26.3 PTS/12.0 REB/8.9 AST and is BetOnline’s +155 favorite to be named 2023-24 NBA MVP while Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.0 PTS/11.7 REB/6.2 AST and sits fifth (+900) in the MVP race.
Does Nikola Jokic have what it takes to win his third NBA MVP award in four seasons?
On top of Jokic and Antetokounmpo playing well this season, so have their teams. The Bucks and Nuggets are two of the best teams in their respective conference, sitting second in the East and fourth in the West, respectively.
They’ve also both been piling up the wins lately. The Bucks are 7-2 SU with a plus-4.6 averaging scoring margin in their last nine games and have also won back-to-back road matchups. It’s also expected that Doc Rivers will make his debut as Milwaukee’s head coach tonight, leaving time to tell if that success continues under him.
While the Nuggets have won six of their last eight games, they only boast a minus-0.1 margin during that stretch. Their inability to create separate has also led to their going 2-5-1 ATS during that run, which isn’t much different from the Bucks’ 3-6 ATS record in their last nine games.
Can the Bucks extend their winning ways with a victory at Ball Arena tonight?
As great as the Bucks are, I’m going with the Nuggets, who are a commanding 18-4 SU at Ball Arena this season. Milwaukee just hasn’t had a convincing road victory in a long time, going 3-3 SU in their last six away games with each win coming against the Pistons and Spurs — two of the NBA’s worst teams. Just as he has in the past, Jokic will find a way to edge out Gainnis & Co.
Having said that, with neither side consistently covering the spread, I’m taking the Under as the best bet. Even though the Over is 7-2 in the last nine Bucks-Nuggets tilts in Denver, the teams only surpassed 238 points once. The Under is also 13-9 across 22 games at Ball Arena this season, falling short of tonight’s projected total 15 times.

Best Bucks vs Nuggets NBA Prop Bet (1/29)
While there are a ton of great Bucks vs. Nuggets player props available, I’m taking the Over on Nikola Jokic’s 9.5-assist total as the best pick.
Even though the Over has only been hit once in Jokic’s last seven games, he tends to step up when he faces off against Antetokounmpo. The Serbian superstar averaged 12.3 APG in his last three encounters with the ‘Greek Freak,’ hitting the Over on each occasion. The good news for Jokic is that the Bucks are allowing the third-most assists to centers this season.
Considering how he’s also averaging 11.5 assists in his last four home outings, it’s a no-brainer to back this Jokic prop tonight.
