— Cleveland Cavaliers (@cavs) April 3, 2024
The Cavaliers face a quick turnaround after last night’s lopsided 129-113 victory over the Utah Jazz. On the other hand, the Suns return home after going 3-2 SU on a five-game road trip, most recently beating the New Orleans Pelicans 124-111 on Monday.
When it comes to BetOnline’s NBA Championship odds, Phoenix currently holds the eighth-best odds (+2500) while Cleveland finds itself in a tie for 12th (+4000). Will either side’s odds improve with a win tonight?

Cavaliers vs Suns Prediction & NBA Picks Today (4/3): Zero Rest Plagues Cleveland
Time will tell if the Cavaliers can put their inconsistent ways in the rearview mirror tonight. They’ve been unable to get any prolonged success going lately, going 8-11 SU in their last 19 games without winning back-to-back outings during that stretch. The last time that Cleveland notched consecutive wins was in February’s final two games.
An underwhelming offense has been one of the main reasons behind the Cavaliers’ recent woes. When it comes to NBA stats since March 1, Cleveland ranks 25th in points, 26th in field goals made, and 20th in field-goal percentage while being outscored by an average of 3.3 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Suns have experienced plenty of offensive success lately. During that same time frame, Phoenix comes in at eighth in points, sixth in assists, eighth in field goals, third in FG%, and fourth in 3P% with a plus-1.6 average scoring margin.
In fact, the Suns’ attack was on full display on Monday when Devin Booker scored 52 points on .679/.500/.857 splits against the Pelicans. The gifted sharpshooter is now averaging 30.2 points on 54.5% shooting in his last six games.
The Cavaliers must figure out a way to contain Devin Booker tonight.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Cavaliers figure out a way to get some revenge tonight. It was only on March 11 when these teams clashed at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, ending in a 117-111 win for the Suns as Kevin Durant dropped a game-high 37 points while Booker and Bradley Beal combined for 51 of their own points.
It was the same old outcome for the Cavs, who’ve now lost six of their last eight matchups against the Suns.
The lack of rest following last night’s game could also hurt the Cavaliers, who are 5-8 SU/5-7-1 ATS in the second half of back-to-back matchups this season. They’ve also dropped 10 of the 18 road games where they were the underdogs.
Meanwhile, the Suns are a solid 22-9 SU as the home favorite while covering the spread 13 times. Although that isn’t the best spread success, it’s worth noting that Phoenix is 6-2 ATS in its last eight home games on a Wednesday. Additionally, Frank Vogel’s team has a 65.5% success rate in non-conference games whereas the Cavs own a 61.5% winning percentage in that regard.
The Cavaliers haven’t found much success when playing without rest in 2023-24.
I’m taking the Suns to win tonight. Not only are the Cavaliers struggling without any rest, but they can’t be trusted after failing to earn consecutive victories in over a month. The Suns aren’t perfect, but they’ve been good at Footprint Center this season and have already picked up a win over the Cavs. As long as Phoenix’s best players show up, another win is more likely than not.
These are two of the better defensive teams, though, hence why I’m taking the Under on the 226.5-point total. For starters, the Under is 22-16 for Cleveland on the road and 20-17 for Phoenix at home this season. Speaking of which, the Under hit in eight of the Suns’ last nine outings at Footprint Center.
Additionally, three of the last five Cavaliers-Suns tilts finished with fewer than 226.5 points, averaging only 208.8 PPG.

Best Cavaliers vs Suns NBA Prop Bet (4/3)
Although there are several enticing Cavaliers vs. Suns player props out there, how can we not go with Kevin Durant o24.5 total points?
Durant has been efficiently scoring the ball lately, averaging 26.2 points on .528/.419/.849 splits across his last 14 games. When it comes to this prop, the two-time NBA Finals MVP finished with the Over eight times during that stretch — including in four of his last five outings. That’s without mentioning how the Over is 10-5 as he averages 29.3 points in his last 15 home games.
Considering how he finished with 25-plus points in each of his last five games against the Cavaliers, Durant is a threat to hit the Over yet again.
