Tottenham Hotspur welcome Arsenal for a mouth-watering north London Derby that could decide which side of this rivalry will play UEFA Champions League football next season.
Both Spurs and the Gunners contest fourth place in the Premier League and the spot in Europe’s elite that accompanies it. Tottenham have the home advantage and will be eager to make it pay with their chances of fourth fading fast following one win in four.
Arsenal currently occupy that sought-after fourth place, and thanks to four wins on the bounce, Mikel Arteta’s men are favourites to stand their ground. They already enjoy a four-point cushion over their hosts and know avoiding defeat in this derby will prove crucial come the final count.

Spurs are stumbling to the finish line
Tottenham needed a strong finish to the season to ensure they took advantage of the inconsistency shown by rivals Arsenal and Manchester United to break into the top four.
The Londoners have shown flashes of their potential, but their form has abandoned them when they needed it most, and they have slipped out of the prize places.
The hosts prepare for this crucial derby, having won just one of their last four league games with that sticky spell showing two draws and a defeat. They have 62 points on the board, which is four fewer than fourth-placed Arsenal, and time is running out to make up the difference.
That means anything less than a victory at home would be a disaster for Spurs, sticking a pin in their chances of finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League.
The financial repercussions for that would be huge for a time with their outgoings and absence from Europe’s elite competition would also make it more difficult to attract the best players during this summer’s transfer window.
Son-Heung Min is Tottenham’s joint top scorer with Harry Kane after netting three goals in two games this month.
Despite that unconvincing run and the pressure on everyone connected to Tottenham, they are unbeaten in their last three at this level with that form reading draw-win-draw.
They finished April with a poor goalless finish away to lowly Brentford before opening May with a solid 3-1 win over an out of sorts Leicester City when last at this venue.
Tottenham were at Anfield last time out, where they delivered a blow to the title hopes of their opponents when earning a 1-1 draw in a match the Reds were hot favourites to win.
Despite going in as the underdogs, Spurs held their own against Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasers and even took the lead on 56 minutes thanks to a goal from Son Heung-Min before Diaz equalised.
Gunners must keep going
Arsenal’s season has been difficult to follow at times, with the fans experienced many highs but also their fair share of low points.
There was a time it looked like they could drop into midtable and manager Arteta could lose his job, but, unlike at Man Utd, who sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the board stuck with their man.
It has had the desired result, with the team responding well to the settled atmosphere while other sides had to adjust to new techniques, formations and ideas.
If Arsenal finish fourth and make it to the Champions League, fans will look back at that decision to give Arteta more time as a shrewd call and encourage others to do the same.
Arsenal have won each of their last four Premier League games, scoring 11 goals, beating Chelsea, Man Utd, West Ham and Leeds.
Arsenal’s four-match winning run has been incredible, beating teams they were expected to lose to and doing it in style. That streak began last month with a jaw-dropping 4-2 win over last season’s Champions League winners Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before smashing Man Utd 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
The feel-good factor continued into May and the final month of the Premier League season. Arteta’s men kicked things off with a 2-1 derby win away to West Ham United at the former London 2012 stadium before beating Leeds United by the same score on Sunday.
Head to Head Stats & Trends for Tottenham vs. Arsenal
Here we have a derby match between two teams chasing fourth place, but all the pressure is on the hosts. Anything less than three points would end their chances of finishing fourth and reaching Europe’s elite in the summer, and even if they do win this match, they will still rely on favours.
That’s not the case for Arsenal, who already enjoy a cushion over their rivals and know a draw or away win would see them cement fourth.
Both sides enter on a recent unbeaten run of form, but Arsenal’s efforts overshadow that of their opponents, taking nine points in their last three games while Spurs have bagged just five.
