Since the New York Yankees went back-to-back-to-back from 1998 to 2000, no team has won the World Series in consecutive seasons. Will that change in 2025? After claiming the Commissioner’s Trophy last season, the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to repeat this season. It will not be easy to achieve that feat, but based on their returning talent and offseason additions, it will take a lot to dislodge them from atop World Series winner odds throughout the season.

Follow the Latest World Series Winner Odds at Betting News
Throughout the MLB season, World Series winner odds will see some notable changes. Some expected contenders will not meet those expectations, and there is always the possibility that a team who was not expected to be in the mix ends up outperforming their opening odds.
Trades and injuries can factor into those outcomes and impact MLB futures and the MLB standings, so it is wise to stay plugged in to the biggest headlines and storylines around the league.
Ultimately, while the Commissioner’s Trophy is awarded in late October or early November, what happens in the regular season plays a key role as well, as it determines which teams end up having a chance to tussle for the trophy.
Here, you can keep up with the latest World Series winner odds and how things may fluctuate over the course of the season.
Odds are as of Sunday, March 30, 2025.

Recent World Series Winners
The 2024 World Series, which saw the Dodgers dispatch the Yankees in a matchup of two of the most storied franchises in baseball, was the 120th World Series.
The World Series, also known as the Fall Classic, first took place in 1903. The American League holds a 68-52 lead over the National League in all-time World Series wins, but the National League has had the upper hand in recent years, winning four of the last six titles.
Most of the ten most recent World Series winners are among this season’s top MLB contenders, with the exception of the Washington Nationals, who have not had a winning season since they won the World Series in 2019.
- 2024: Los Angeles Dodgers (defeated New York Yankees 4-1)
- 2023: Texas Rangers (defeated Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1)
- 2022: Houston Astros (defeated Philadelphia Phillies 4-2)
- 2021: Atlanta Braves (defeated Houston Astros 4-2)
- 2020: Los Angeles Dodgers (defeated Tampa Bay Rays 4-2)
- 2019: Washington Nationals (defeated Houston Astros 4-3)
- 2018: Boston Red Sox (defeated Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1)
- 2017: Houston Astros (defeated Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3)
- 2016: Chicago Cubs (defeated Cleveland Guardians 4-3)
- 2015: Kansas City Royals (defeated New York Mets 4-1)
Last year’s matchup is the most frequent matchup in the World Series. The Dodgers and Yankees have now met in the Fall Classic a dozen times, seven when the Dodgers were the Brooklyn Dodgers and five since they moved to Los Angeles.
The second most frequent matchup is Yankees-Giants, who have faced off in the World Series five times but not since 1964, which was their lone meeting since the Giants relocated from New York to San Francisco.
