2026 U.S. Open Final Round Odds, Predictions & Picks cover (2026 U.S. Open leader Wyndham Clark)

golf

Three years ago, Wyndham Clark had the crowning achievement of his golf career as he won the 2023 U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club. After returning from a stint wandering the wilderness, Clark is now on course to claim a second U.S. Open title today.

Low scores can often be worth their weight in gold at the U.S. Open, and Clark set himself up for success with an opening-round 64 (-6) that gave him a three-shot lead. Following it up with a 1-under 69 and an even-par round of 70 has only served to consolidate that early advantage, as no one has managed to mount a sustained challenge to this point.

As a result, Clark enters the final round at Shinnecock Hills with a six-shot advantage over a quartet that includes Scottie Scheffler, who will join his compatriot in today's final pairing (2:30 p.m. ET).

With such a hefty lead, Clark is a heavy favorite ahead of the final round. However, the presence of Scheffler means that he is not as far as into the distance as he could otherwise be at Lucky Rebel and other top online sportsbooks.

2026 U.S. Open Final Round Predictions & Picks

Xander Schauffele to Finish in the Top Five (+110 at Lucky Rebel)

Schauffele enters the final round at Shinnecock Hills poised to finish in the top 10 for the third consecutive major this season and the 11th time in his last 15 major appearances.

Can he go even higher and land in the top five? I like his chances to do so. He closed positively at the Masters (4-under 68 to finish tied for ninth) and PGA Championship (1-under 69 to finish tied for seventh), and in the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock, he fired a 2-under 68 in the final round to finish tied for sixth.

With this in mind, it would also be worthwhile to sprinkle a little bit on Schauffele to record a score under 71.5 (-120 at Lucky Rebel). In fact, given the odds and that you merely need him to shoot 1-over or better for that bet to hit, there's a very good argument to make that your primary play.

Rory McIlroy to Finish in the Top 10 (+165 at Lucky Rebel)

After bagging three straight birdies on his fifth, sixth, and seventh holes yesterday, McIlroy appeared primed to potentially make a charge.

However, he went the other way, recording five bogeys and no birdies on the back nine to drop from -2 after seven to +3 at the close of his round.

He will no doubt be disappointed to fall out of contention, but like Schauffele, McIlroy can still secure a third top-10 finish in three majors this season.

McIlroy has not had three consecutive over-par rounds since last year's U.S. Open, when he shot 74-72-74 in the first three rounds at Oakmont before closing with a 3-under 67. Also, he has shot par or better in the final round in his last four U.S. Open appearances, and he is seven for seven this year in going under par in the fourth round.

With how much chaos can occur in the final round, you can't pass up these odds on McIlroy. It would be negligent given his pedigree, his current position, and the situation.
