Octoplay Enters Alberta iGaming Market With 7 Operators

industry

Octoplay expanded its North American operations on September 21, 2026, entering Alberta's iGaming market on the opening day. The launch coincided with the province's transition to a regulated commercial iGaming framework.

The studio went live with seven operators, including BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Betty, Rush Street Interactive, PENN, and bet365. This broad launch gives Octoplay immediate distribution across several established gaming brands.

The entry also marks Octoplay's largest coordinated market launch to date. It strengthens the studio's position as Alberta begins its new regulated iGaming era.

Octoplay Launches With Seven Alberta Operators

Octoplay's Alberta debut provides immediate access to customers through seven leading operators. Six of those operators already have established relationships with the supplier in other regulated markets.

PENN, however, represents a new tier-one partnership for Octoplay. The company highlighted that relationship alongside its existing collaborations with the other six operators.

Ralitsa Georgieva, CEO at Octoplay, pointed to the breadth of the launch and its significance for the studio.

"Alberta brings together tier-one partners we have built strong relationships with across other markets, including BetMGM, FanDuel, Rush Street Interactive, bet365, Betty, and DraftKings, alongside a new tier-one partnership with PENN."

"Having seven leading operators live on day one in a completely new region shows the trust these brands place in our content and in our ability to deliver at the pace regulated markets require," Georgieva added.

The seven-operator rollout gives Octoplay a substantial presence from the start. It also reflects the supplier's ability to manage multiple integrations within a newly regulated market.

Alberta Becomes Octoplay's 20th Regulated Market

Alberta is Octoplay's 20th regulated market worldwide. The company secured conditional approval from Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) before the market opened.

Commercial agreements in Alberta are handled through the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC), which works with approved commercial operators and suppliers. This framework separates regulatory oversight from the commercial relationships supporting Alberta's iGaming market.

Octoplay's approval allowed the company to prepare its market entry and operator integrations ahead of launch. The company already operates across several regulated jurisdictions in Europe, North America, and other regions.

Its North American footprint now includes Ontario, New Jersey, Michigan, and Alberta. The expansion gives Octoplay another regulated Canadian market after entering Ontario in 2023.

North American Expansion Continues

Octoplay began building its North American presence with its Ontario entry in 2023. It later expanded into New Jersey, establishing its first regulated operations in US online casinos.

The supplier subsequently entered Michigan in December 2025. Its Michigan launch included BetMGM, FanDuel, Fanatics, and Rush Street Interactive.

Alberta now adds another market to that regional network. The timing also allows Octoplay to establish its presence as operators compete within Alberta's new commercial framework.

For Alberta gambling, the arrival adds another established supplier to a market that has only just opened. Octoplay can also leverage relationships with major operators already familiar with its content.

Octoplay Builds Its Alberta Presence

Launching with seven operators gives Octoplay broad exposure from the beginning of Alberta's regulated market. It also creates opportunities to expand its casino content across additional operators over time.

The company's new partnership with PENN could further support that growth. Its existing relationships also provide a foundation for continued expansion across North America.

The Alberta launch consequently represents more than another regulated-market entry. It adds to Octoplay's regional footprint while bringing its global regulated presence to 20 markets.

As Alberta gambling develops, Octoplay will compete alongside other established gaming content suppliers. Its opening-day presence with seven operators gives the studio an immediate position within the province's newly regulated iGaming landscape.
